In the US Alamo are fantastic and the UK site provides you with a single cost including damage waiver. In Europe they are awful, often without a desk at the airport and a guy that comes to see you (late).

chosen because conveniently placed inside Barcelona airport compound, the service was very good if a little slow as we arrived late and there was a small queue. However vehicle didn't disappoint and returning it was also straightforward. Deposit refund was fast and no hidden extras were charged. Will definitely use again.

The actual service we recieved at the time but alamo took an extra deposit from my partner's credit card and then proceeded to deny all knowledge of this leaving us to contact mastercard in order to get the money back (we have now)
