Ialwal May 24th, 2009 a 07:59 am

Someone yanked the raiser chord on the current pvc venitian blind too hard, & snapped it, rendering it permenantly down.. That same person then resorted to squeezing their big ole hand through the small narrow slits in the blind to open the window, & has now snapped 2 of them.. so I'm left with a naff blind that wouldn't look out of place in Onslow & Rose's house from The 'keeping up appearances' show! :-P

New roofing, door and decoration for our garden shed, soon to be turned into a den for our 7 year old.

bakinmummy May 22nd, 2009 a 06:20 pm

sckcb May 22nd, 2009 a 04:37 pm

I'd put it towards a Hansgrohe Raindance shower. We're half way through redocaorting our bathroom (after a leak) and our shower has now broken so we can't attach the bath back to the wall until we replace the shower so a new shower would mean I could have a bath or shower without the bath moving! Bliss!

222followsme May 22nd, 2009 a 04:35 pm

Well, as the previous owner of our house was a bit of a '70s / Acid Casualty Hippy, our walls were a veritable rainbow of excessively bright colours when we moved in - from lurid gloss orange in the kitchen and hallway (with canary yellow skirting), to bright canary yellow with red and purple gloss paintwork in the adjacent dining room, and then on to a tasteful purple gloss and maroon on alternate walls, with equally classy mustard yellow velvet curtains... Our bedroom was a nice lime green, with a giant "acid" smiley covering one entire wall and psychadelic swirls across the ceiling... The bathroom was blue, but apparently he couldn't afford any more paint, so he'd mixed blue washable school paint in with the white, leaving the walls covered in blue-outlined drip marks...
So ALL we ever seem to spend our money on, and what I would spend £100 on, is yet more paint, or new tiles, or perhaps even some proper kitchen units and worktops (since we currently have spray-painted MDF)...
Will it ever end?!!

kinnth May 22nd, 2009 a 04:33 pm

it may be something to patch up the problems that hubby creates in the kitchen tomorrow. we have a sort of pantry, but at the moment our large fridge freezer is sat in front of the door so the idea is we take the frame down, widen the doorway slightly and plaster the corners, then the fridge will fit in there meaning i will be able to swing a cat in the kitchen, just.

the other option is to buy some nice comfortable garden furniture so that i can get hubby using the barbecue and cooking for me instead of the other way around. forget the kitchen that i dont have room to swing a cat in, give me comfort in the sun instead! :D
