Quidco SureShop launches!

April 10th, 2007

We have a massive announcement to make here at Quidco! Today we are launching a brand new initiative for Quidco members that will improve your cashback shopping experience through Quidco.

As of today we are launching Quidco SureShop. The Quidco SureShop programme is a highly visible sign that you can depend on these merchants to resolve any problems or enquiries within 30 days of us contacting them with the issue. In the case of missing transactions for example we will be able to have a resolution for you within 30 days from the point we submit that enquiry to the merchant. This is an agreement we have in place with these merchants and any member enquiries from today on will be subject to this 30 day guarantee.

Quidco SureShop highlights:

- Guaranteed resolution time of 30 days from the time we contact SureShop merchants
- Increased confidence when shopping through Quidco that any problems will be sorted
- All missing enquiries on SureShop merchants resolved quickly and at 100% of the missing value
- Enquiries must be accurate and provide all information as requested by the merchant
- A successful resolution will result in the transaction added to your Quidco account - the payment period depends on the merchants invoice and payment cycle just as with a normal transaction.

Quidco members have told us over and over that the most frustrating part of their Quidco experience is when they run into a problem with a participating merchant; long delays and unknown waiting periods for missing enquiries or other merchant problems have created frustrating situations for many members. The SureShop agreement eliminates this uncertainty and frustration by ensuring that if you shop with a participating merchant any problems will be handled quickly and efficiently.

As with everything on Quidco the SureShop programme must be fair both ways and we will be reviewing any transaction enquiries very closely. If we find members submitting enquiries with incorrect or missing information (when it is requested explicitly on the enquiry form) we may suspend enquiry privileges.

The SureShop programme is something we have been working towards for a long time and we believe this is a massive step forward for the Quidco cooperative. All current SureShop merchants have the icon visible in the regular sort listings and in their merchant page. If you want to shop only with the security of SureShop merchants, we have added another sort tab so that you can sort the SureShop merchants to the top of any category or sub-category.

We are really excited about launching this with our initial participating SureShop merchants and welcome any feedback or thoughts! If you are a Quidco member you can post below in the comments and we'll help out with any questions. You can also read the new help topic for SureShop here: About SureShop approved merchants.

You must to post a comment.

androzani April 25th, 2007 a 10:00 pm

Goodness me - I have had an outstanding enquiry with Direct Line since August 2006 for £40. Is there really *any* chance of getting this? Shocking. It will soon be time to renew my car insurance this year.. If Direct Line do come out cheapest when I shop around, I wonder if they'll duck out of paying again in 2007?

pinktinkerbell2006 April 25th, 2007 a 11:58 am

Yes I agree with the two posts above, I also have over £100 cashbacks which cant seem to materialise. Yes I know that cashback is not 100% guarenteed but then whats the point of this all if quidco has no way of assuring its members that they will recieve whats being advertised??? Yes I have made some money via quidco however its obvious that 1. quidco is gaining from the information it has about our spending habits and 2. The merchants quidco works with get more customers due to Quidco's marketing strategy of cashback. I think Quidco's SureShop is a good idea in theory! but its really MUST be implimented properly! after all this is all based on retail so we need good customer service to go with it!

Birchtree April 16th, 2007 a 11:48 pm

when might we be able to "expect to see progress on outstanding enquiries" as ive been waiting to hear from dixons since september 06.
Sureshop is a great idea but im sure there will be many who will feel cheated for the times it doesnt live up to the guarantee

domino666 April 15th, 2007 a 08:01 pm

Lost faith in all merchants having 3 outstanding earnnings enquiries since jan worth over £100 an no sign of ever getting it, nothings a gurantee, nobody can force merchants to pay if they dont want to.

jamesking April 13th, 2007 a 11:34 am

I see my enquiry from Paddypower was resolved mere days before Sureshop came in, and hasn't been paid yet. Since Sureshop is now in place, surely they'll pay the full amount, and I should recieve the full amount...?

Oh well, you win some, you lose some I guess!

ANDY597 April 13th, 2007 a 09:43 am

I think this sure shop idea is absolutely brilliant, a step in the right direction. I have only been a quidco member for a relatively short period of time but it has revolutionised the way that I shop online.

However, I am already frustrated by the missing transcations process.

The consistent message from reading the above posts is Great News on sureshop but what about sorting out the existing enquiries or lets cut our lossed and bin them as not paid.

We should be binning merchants that consistently dont resolve enquiry disputes.

Just my tuppence worth

necrodeathhead April 12th, 2007 a 06:02 pm

Thanks Quidco.Top marks to you.

juliakerr April 12th, 2007 a 03:29 pm

I think that SureShop is a good idea, but was surprised to see HMV as one of the shops - with all the problems that people have had with HMV not tracking, or showing incorrect amounts.....Would of thought that would be fixd prior to them becoming a SureShop member

Angri April 12th, 2007 a 03:29 pm

Excellent news . . Whilst I have had a couple of frustrating experiences with some of your partners, most have been very good.

However, this latest development of yours underlines what a forward-looking and progressive business you are.

Well done Quidco - - and I sincerely trust that ALL your partners sign up to this development, and any that may decline - you should ask to leave!

quidco April 12th, 2007 a 02:20 pm

ssb - We don't do marketing gimmicks which is why we have never made any promises or given guarantees that we are not able to keep.

SureShop is a big step forward and as proactive as possible! We are now above to give a guarantee on these SureShop merchants that any issues will be resolved within that timeline.

All outstanding enquiries from before we had the technical platform and service agreement in place continue to be pursued, please read the comment above in regards to these.

sssb April 12th, 2007 a 11:12 am

I'm beginning to smell a rat. SureShop is starting to sound like a marketing gimmick. Dissenting voices on this thread are being jumped on by evangelists.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a fan of Quidco. But genuine people like myself have come on here to request that merchants who have done us out of cashback are investigated.

It is hypocritical that a number of "SureShop" merchants can be allowed to get away with welching on past commitments. Quidco, good as they are, can always absolve themselves with excuses - "Cashback is only a possibility, not a guarantee."

Is it understandable that some people are rather miffed, more so when Quidco fob them off. I think Quidco could be a little more sympathetic and proactive in following up these cases.

PEOPLE NEED TO READ THE COMMENTS BEFORE POSTING THEIR OWN COMMENT.

Quidco have already answered questions on SureShop in regards to back dating.

This is above:

quidco says:

Regarding outstanding enquiries with SureShop merchants: The SureShop programme is partially a technical solution and also a service agreement so the guarantee can only be applied to enquiries from the launch point onwards. However, the agreement also puts us into a better contact position so we do expect to see progress on outstanding enquiries also - as noted though due to the technical and service agreement nature of the SureShop programme we canât extend a definitive guarantee to those outstanding ones.

We are very conservative here and only want to give the guarantees where we can so donât take that too negatively! We think being able to move forward with this SureShop guarantee is a massive step in any case for any active members as it means at the least there are no future worries.

Sureshop??? I'm 'Sure' to believe when I see it.

I have an enquiry with BOOTS dating back to August 2006. I know I am not alone in having problems with Boots. Having had absolutely no resolution or change in status in near-on 9 months, I cannot see how BOOTS can be now given Sureshop accreditation.

Will Boots now be visting the backlog of enquiries as part of there Sureshop approval?

quidco April 11th, 2007 a 04:51 pm

mrlew and others - How outstanding enquiries are affected is answered in the second post by quidco in the comments above.

mrlew April 11th, 2007 a 04:20 pm

That sounds really great Quidco.

What will happen to old enquries for sureshop merchants. I have one for Lloyds going back to feb, will this now be subject to the 30 days rule ?

chucklevision April 11th, 2007 a 03:53 pm

I am very please with my QuidCo tracking and payments. £1500 since January 2006 is very good. QuidCo has saved me a fortune in Car and house insurance - so thanks!

I've only had a hand full of declined/never answered enquiries (these being Gamebookers, Paddy Power, Bingos.co.uk, Victor Chandler Sportsbook/casino, Unibet and JackpotJoy.) Some of these are in this new SureShop section so maybe I'll get lucky and something back from these!

With all cashback you take the chance that it won't get paid - and more than 90% have paid for me, so I'm impressed with the QuidCo service upto now.

This SureShop sections is only going to improve an already excellent shopping experience.

punkrjb April 11th, 2007 a 02:40 pm

glad to see ebuyer is there, wouldn't want to miss my 0.1%

FastShow April 11th, 2007 a 01:18 pm

I also have an unresolved £50 enquiry with Paddy Power that is over a year old, and I would also be very interested to hear what is happening with these.

howardjosephs April 11th, 2007 a 09:47 am

Can you re-submit an unresolved enquiry to a SureShop e-tailer? Would that get it resolved in 30 days? I see Pru Home is listed under this initiative and my query is outstanding since January...

Pan111 April 11th, 2007 a 09:44 am

The detais at the foot of the Virgin Mobile description still shows up as only willing to pay 50% ...I have a query Ive not yet submitted...shall I wait a little longer? :)

clp April 11th, 2007 a 09:29 am

Good luck with SureShop - great to see Quidco trying out new initiatives and working closely with merchants. Keep up the good work.

Rogerb April 11th, 2007 a 09:29 am

Having waited nine months for Virgin Mobile, a SureShop merchant, to pay up with 7 of those months being as a successful enquiry, the fact they pay up on announcement day suggests they at least have tidied up their act in readiness.
Shame it was only 50% of the original £8 which will no longer be the case.
I am encouraged by this new initiative.

sssb April 11th, 2007 a 07:36 am

Quidco - will you investigate oustanding queries with SureShop merchants, like mine with DreamDirect I described above, as a gesture of goodwill and to get the scheme off to a flying start?

I do genuinely wish you good luck with the new initiative.

marktindall April 11th, 2007 a 04:38 am

I fail to understand why Paddy Power Casino can be part of this program! I have an outstanding enquiry from 12 months ago. Or can i assume that my enquiry will now be dealt with in the next 30 days?

Quidco please can you confirm.

quidco April 11th, 2007 a 12:34 am

>I am unable to make an enquiery as the amount is less that a pound so it is a contradiction and that company does NOT deserve to be part of that prog

That is a good point if all the transactions on the programme are under a pound there aren't enquiries anyway. We will review this immediately.

quidco April 11th, 2007 a 12:33 am

>This new system has messed up my browser my earning/favourite buttons arenât there will this be fixed?

Have you tried doing a page refresh?

quidco April 11th, 2007 a 12:32 am

>click earnings then click april â¦. the earning column within the month is empty

Sorry - good spot. This will be fixed asap. The data is there on the backend it's just not showing properly.

bumbum April 11th, 2007 a 12:30 am

shopping.com has never issued me a single penny even though I use it all the time, not once did it track me even though I have purchased a few things through their site
I am unable to make an enquiery as the amount is less that a pound so it is a contradiction and that company does NOT deserve to be part of that prog
sorry :-(

ade2j April 10th, 2007 a 11:48 pm

This new system has messed up my browser my earning/favourite buttons aren't there will this be fixed?

Arizon1 April 10th, 2007 a 11:47 pm

"Arizon1 - Have you refreshed your page? Which page are you at exactly?"

The pages that list the transactions for every month, all the data is gone, all that shows is the transaction amount and the status, no data on the cashback amount, this = big problem.

Also Quidco, can i enquire as to whatâs going to happen to a couple of earnings enquiries i made a week or two ago for shops that now have sureshop status, will this be dealt with quicker or still 90 days?

Many Thanks

smilingit April 10th, 2007 a 11:44 pm

Does anyone know why National Express gets on declining tracking of 30p either on transaction in my name of funfares or normal fares? I cannot understand

duneindex April 10th, 2007 a 11:42 pm

>duneindex/Arizon1 - Have you refreshed your page? Which page are you at exactly?

click earnings then click april .... the earning column within the month is empty

>duneindex - What do you mean not taking enquiries? All the PaddyPower programmes accept enquiries.

i was talking about this statement on the paddy power casino page...last sentence

Please read the following before proceeding:

If you are already registered with any of the Paddy Power sites you will not be eligible for commission on a new registration.

Paddy Power Casino will not be accepting enquiries on the revenue share programme.

alan99 April 10th, 2007 a 11:32 pm

I notice that NatWest Home Insurance is a Sureshot merchant. Let's hope I'll now get a response from my query for £60 cashback from June last year!!
Good luck with Sureshot - If it works it will be great

quidco April 10th, 2007 a 11:17 pm

duneindex - What do you mean not taking enquiries? All the PaddyPower programmes accept enquiries.

duneindex/Arizon1 - Have you refreshed your page? Which page are you at exactly?

wileycat - On a programme like shopping.com I believe the merchant has internal click tracking to make sure the programme is not abused across several sites and so forth. We do have transactions coming in normally on that so the tracking itself does work.

littlekerry - SureShop doesn't eliminate problems from occurring - it does mean that if your transaction doesn't sort out that you can submit an enquiry and we will get a resolution within 30 days for that problem.

duneindex April 10th, 2007 a 11:06 pm

why is paddy power part of the sure shop program when they are not taking enquires?

doesn't one contradict the other?

m1chaels April 10th, 2007 a 10:36 pm

Quidco why don't you put pressure on these companies you have a relationship with to resolve outstanding enquiries - it would almost be better to get a rejection than be ignored. Surely suspending a company for a few days and them seeing a drop in business woudl do wonders to focus minds? Corla, Tote, M&S, Paddy Power...

Arizon1 April 10th, 2007 a 09:30 pm

Yes why is that? i hope it's going to be fixed

duneindex April 10th, 2007 a 09:18 pm

good news about sure shop but whats happened to the page setup since you updated the page?

the transaction, payment, enquiries are all squished together and the earnings column on the monthly earnings page has no info in it (all payments missing)?

littlekerry April 10th, 2007 a 09:10 pm

great news, but last night I booked a holiday with hoseasons (supposedly sureshop) and today its been declined!!! not quite sure on that!!!

wileycat April 10th, 2007 a 08:57 pm

Can we start by trying to get Shopping.com to track at all...

Arizon1 April 10th, 2007 a 08:31 pm

Hi Quidco,

Can i enquire as to what's going to happen to an earnings enquiry i made a week or two ago for a shop that now has sureshop status, will this be dealt with quicker or still 90 days?

Thanks

quidco April 10th, 2007 a 07:40 pm

Regarding outstanding enquiries with SureShop merchants: The SureShop programme is partially a technical solution and also a service agreement so the guarantee can only be applied to enquiries from the launch point onwards. redpoppy64 April 10th, 2007 a 07:39 pm

Sounds like a lot of work has been undertaken. Good luck with this! It's great that you guys are helping us all the time. Thank you.

But I also hope (as pointed out by unsaltedrhino) that existing enquiries with the new SureShop merchants are resolved and actually paid up soon too as I am due £25 from one of 'em and have been for months even though it was a successful enquiry. I'm amazed their invoice/payment cycle is *that* long.

However I detract from the original point and that is to say excellent work QuidCo. Yay!

sssb April 10th, 2007 a 07:36 pm

I also support the initiative, but have Quidco done all the homework before assigning the SureShop statuses?

For example, DreamDirect is a SureShop retailer. Yet I have been waiting for an earnings query with them to be resolved with them since June last year! It was for over £7 in cashback too.

As far as I'm concerned, it's only going to work if it can be trusted. Is there any chance Quidco can investigate?

Thanks

doone128 April 10th, 2007 a 07:27 pm

Billymac - I'm with you.
I've got an enquiry with Virgin Games which goes back to early September last year.
Quidco - Will this be dealt with under the new 30 day scheme? I certainly hope so.

Thanks.

chamberlain April 10th, 2007 a 07:25 pm

Another BIG welldone to quidco for doing this and trying to make it better for us all.

THANKS QUIDCO

Bhavick April 10th, 2007 a 07:04 pm

Great idea, I'd like to be the second to wish SureShop (and QuidCo) every success.

unsaltedrhino April 10th, 2007 a 06:50 pm

Good work, even better if it applies to existing enquiries too!

billymac April 10th, 2007 a 06:13 pm

Great idea however can I ask if the merchants who have signed up to this programme will follow the 30 day timescale for existing enquiries. I have some outstanding enquiries stretching back to September 2006 and before with merchants who have now signed up to this (Cahoot and Dell for example) and am still waiting for any kind of response let alone a successful resolution. Will I now get this within 30 days?

aveldman April 10th, 2007 a 06:08 pm

This sounds great and I don't want to put a downer on it before it's even bedded in, but I hve had an outstanding enquiry with one of the SureShop merchants since the 13th November 2006. Will this now push through my claim and give it more weight?

I would have left it, but its for over £30.

Thanks in advance...

emmsa76 April 10th, 2007 a 05:51 pm

This sounds great. May I been the first to wish SureShop every success.

obvious April 10th, 2007 a 05:45 pm

As long as you dont start cutting down the service level on non SureShop transactions and using SureShop as a 'get out' ie "Well you should have used a SureShop merchant" ;-)

ecneret April 10th, 2007 a 05:44 pm

I`ve really had no problems with cashback but I suppose it gives us extra peace of mind.

quidco April 10th, 2007 a 05:38 pm

In life of course there are no ultimate guarantees on anything - but the reason this has taken a lot of time to implement is because it's not drawn up on a used tissue. This agreement is very firmly in place and reneging on the agreement would be somewhat akin to not paying tracked transactions - i.e. it's against any working agreements. We are putting our weight and our word behind the SureShop programme also by coming out to members with it.

neilmonk April 10th, 2007 a 05:29 pm

Sounds good, but what happens in these merchants renege on this agreement?
