Is Samsung’s Galaxy S3 out of this world?
Samsung’s new flagship device is a large, high spec powerhouse that pushes the boundaries of what mobile phones can do. Anticipation leading up to the launch of the Galaxy S3 at Earls Court in London saw rumours and speculation emerging almost every day as commentators tried to second guess what the device’s creators would reveal.
Sporting a 4.8-inch screen the Galaxy S3 isn’t quite the same phone/tablet hybrid that we saw with the 5.3-inch Galaxy Note. Yet it still stands as one of the bigger handsets around, offering great visual performance from its large Super AMOLED HD display.
With a quad-core processor inside its 8.6mm thick frame, the handset is a stylish and powerful phone that is packed full of features. S-Voice, a rival to Apple’s Siri voice-activated digital assistant and S-Beam, which uses NFC or Wi-Fi to transfer data between different devices, are present and add to the functionality offered. All this is accessed through the impressive user interface, a redesigned version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI that takes its cues from nature, something that is evident throughout via sound profiles and live wallpapers.
