Bought quite an expensive Alienware system through Dell and what a nightmare it was! Took nearly 6 weeks for it to be delivered from ordering when stated it would only take 2. Had to be chased up on numerous occasions and even on 1 occasion they told me that my order had been deleted due to "internal errors" and would need to be re-inputted! To cap it all off, as expected, they have refused to pay any cashback on this sale, surprise surprise! I dont usually write these kind of things but i felt I had no choice I was so wound up with the whole matter! If this review puts at least 1 person off buying from this company then I feel it was worthy of writing this.

As with many others I've had two Dell claims knocked back even though I could provide all the relevant details. This stings as the amount involved was not trivial and was instrumental in the decision to buy from them. Do NOT purchase from Dell, I believe they are using Quidco to boost sales with no intention to provide cashback.

The commission for the referral has been paid elsewhere. No cash back from Dell anymore but they still advertising good deals on Quidco so they probably share the commission I suppose to get. I will not use Quidco again.

It didn't track, so raised it in the normal way, after a few months have passed they have now refused it stating I was in breach of terms and conditions. I will now challenge this and see where that gets me. As it happens, the laptop broke down and is being replaced in the next few days so overall, there service is good.

I purchased a new build laptop in December 2012 with 10% cashback. The first issue was that the claim was not tracked (which quidco promptly corrected), and now after almost five months the claim has been denied stating, 'cashback was sent to another referrer'. The list of 'issues' relating to a non payment seem sketchy to be totally honest.

Seems to be a pattern here of Dell refusing to pay out due to them stating the cashback has gone to another referral company. Quidco you need to sort this out! As an update to my review, I have emailed Dell and demanded they tell me where the cashback allegedly went. They initially refused to assist but after letting them know I would not back down, it has now been escalated within Dell and I am waiting to hear back from them ... As a further update, I would urge everyone to email Dell direct and DEMAND that they sort this out for them.

Bit of confusion, my cashback tracked very quickly, but was then declined. I created a claim which was also quickly declined, but cashback soon tracked again and paid after a month or so (well before the predicted date). Not sure any of this was Dell's fault or just a hiccup.

I purchased a laptop from Dell via Quidco because there was a 10% cashback offer which was expiring in a day or so. The experience of ordering the laptop was fine and the unit was shipped quite quickly and performed adequately. Now, to avoid issues with Quidco I have always had a habit of clearing cookies from my browser from looking the products before going through Quidco to order them, in this instance however the cashback still didn't track. After raising a claim it sat with Quidco for several months before being declined. The Quidco reason was because the "commission for the referral has been paid elsewhere". As I don't see how this could be possible given the cookies were cleared I am particularly disappointed given the laptop was only cheaper than a competitor's unit because of the cashback. Not particularly happy with Quidco's service on this either.

I have bought 2 separate purchases of dell products costing over £1k but never got any cashback, both times I had to raise a claim and after 6 months I got nothing. If you are looking to buy from Dell then don't get your hopes up for the cashback payment. That being said, Dell do have great products and great deals. The customer service can get frustrating at times because they have call centres in India but overall not too bad.

Valid cashback claim denied. Very disappointed as I had thought the laptop that I purchased was only a good deal through quidco, my mistake for trusting the reviews given here in October. Considering the last 12 reviews have all given 1 star each to Dell due to cashback being denied, i would advice quidco to drop them as it is not good for their rep. They fobbed quidco off by saying the cashback was paid elsewhere. I assume someone is making a tidy amount from all this 'claimed' cashback.

After waiting close to 9 months claim refused - apparently paid elsewhere but I know this is not the case. I work in IT and having read that Dell often refused cashback claims I read all the information regarding how to avoid the claim being refused and followed it 100%. Quidco should consider dropping them as a retailer, I would have gone with an alternative supplier if it wasn't for the difference in price after cashback. Be warned that you, like many, are likely to wait over 6 months for the claim to be processed and then find out at some point that Dell have refused it. There should be a process in place whereby the retailer has to prove that it was paid elsewhere and you should be able to dispute a refusal as a quidco user.

I've purchased a few machines from Dell both consumer and business, on all but the first occasion they have declined the cashback for any reason. Last few were 'cashback paid elsewhere' - how? i work in IT and know exactly how to use quidco (over £600 last year) so i know this is BS. 'Cashback not credited to Quidco' again simply an excuse.. The other trick is they call you to confirm your order (no change) then you get the 'not completed wholly online' excuse.. £300 down due to dell using tactics to avoid paying out, knowing there is no comeback as you cant even reply to the tickets from quidco to complain about the retailer. Quidco need to take action on this retailer, looks like my experience is same as many others.

I have been knocked back today (see below) 8 months after the purchase. Terrible from Quidco and from Dell. And I know it has not been paid elsewhere, so someone is at it - this follows a similar vein to other complaints. Remember, the text below is nonsense so can you really trust Quidco or Dell? We have now had a response from the retailer and Im afraid that they have declined your claim on this occasion as the commission for the referral has been paid elsewhere. We know how disappointing this is and we dont like it either, but in the circumstances we are unfortunately unable to take this any further for you. Cashback is actually the commission Quidco receives for referring an on-line sale to a retailer and we pass this on to you, the customer. When this commission is paid elsewhere we are unable to obtain any further details as the retailer is not obliged to give us the name of the referrer. To help you with future purchases, Ive provided a list of factors which can cause cashback to be declined for this reason at the bottom of this message.

I spent £1,836.86 on a new Alienware Laptop, no cashback tracked for months. The claim was raised in October 2012 and I have heard nothing for months. Suddenly on 8th April 2013 I receive a response to my claim that it was refused - no idea why apart from they stated cashback was paid elsewhere, won't tell me who by or who to and there is nothing more they can do. I have lost of £120 in cashback and they will not give any explanation, I would never use them again.

Ordered 2 computers one dead on arrival didn't believed my husband who is IT expert wanted to send man out. No one came, eventually sent new battery all ok now but won't buy from Dell again.

Ordered a laptop and a computer from Dell through Quidco, at a cost of nearly £600. Did not show up, so raised a complaint, which found the order and time etc on the quidco website. Waited for months for quidco to do something (what do they do?) and finally received an email saying cashback declined. No specific reason, just a general list of possibilities. I will never order from dell again and I will never use quidco again. We have no rights when the merchant says no, and quidco are no help. Have always used topcashback in the past, and will continue to use them again in the future as I have never had any problems. What a joke quidco and Dell are

Dell to my surprise was excellent to buy from, good communication and tracking of my order from build to delivery. So far I cannot fault the service. Speed of cashback was less than 6 weeks. The PC was so good I have now bought another for a family member. Again that was a very good experience.

considering my misery with AA and Aviva, i suspected that any cashback for more than pennies would be rejected but DELL, in spite of (possibly because of their loss of market) offered both an excellent rate (i think it was 8%) and it arrived within six weeks. if only AA and Aviva would be as quick or as certain.

Ordered my computer at the start of August its now the end of January and still no cash back despite claiming to be a fast payer i.e. less than 6 weeks. The only reason I got a dell was because after the cash back it was cheaper than other makes. This is my 4th and last dell. Will not be buying again.

Took just over a month from placing the order to getting the money paid. Took a few days to appear originally (that could have been quicker) and the amount was different to what I was expecting, but only a little bit, and to argue with the amount is probably extremely difficult to process and prove. However, due to the quick payment received I am overall happy with it, and will use Dell again in the future.

Good service from Dell,but only received from Dell 2% cash back not 5% which was quoted at time. Contacted Quidco straight away but you can only raise a claim once it's been paid and now it's back to 2% so think I'm wasting my time.

Made use of an 11% discount offer plus 10% cashback. Product arrived ahead of schedule, in excellent condition, by courier and cashback was tracked quickly. After 6 weeks the transaction has been confirmed - not sure Dell count as a 'faster paying' retailer; other retailers labelled in this way have paid within 3-4 weeks. However no complaints about the overall service.

Everything tracked ok, I was expecting nearly £360 cash back, but it turns out, Dell pay cashback on "Pre-VAT" value, so the £3,600 due to pay £360, actually paid £290. Major issues wrong laptop sent, but was compensated with additional cash refund from Dell, so overly happy.

I've waited nearly 8 months for Dell to get back to Quidco about unpaid cashback of just over £50 for a laptop I bought. Dell eventually declined the claim but didn't give any specific reason why, so I can't even argue my case.

Don't count on getting any cashback from Dell, purchase tracked nicely into my Quidco account as per usual but it was declined by Dell for no reason, raised claim and no clear reason again given just a standard response about possibly not tracking due to using other links or possibly attributed to another users voucher codes! ... Disappointed as now can't take this any further so lost out on nearly £35 worth of cashback owed :( Be nice to know which theiving company got my cashback instead then!!

My order failed to track initially and I thought that I wouldn't get the cashback - which really hacked me off, but I thought I'd raise a claim anyway just in case and it came through in a week or so - so I am pretty pleased overall. £75 makes a big difference on the price of a laptop!

Hi .. I would recommend Dell to everyone.. Have purchased Dell Laptop and Desktops for the last 20 years. There customer service maybe based in India but the quality of customer care is second to none. Purchased laptop on a Friday, received it the following Monday. The Cashback process took less than 4 weeks to complete, from start to finish which is very quick compared to other cashback sites. One thing to look out for is that when completeing a cash back transaction, is to remember VAT is not taken into consideration. Otherwise excellent service from both Quidco and Dell.

Dell have always been pretty good all round. Although the value for money has reduced in recent years, it's still quite fair and you get pretty much what you pay for. Confused delivery this time, 2 parts, one arrived within 2 working days, text reminder and everything, the other about a week later, no reminder at all. Still, cash-back tracked quickly and made it even better value.
