Had an excellent quote, nice friendly UK call centre staff etc, but is it really necessary to wait nearly 6 months for cashback nowadays?

Cashback tracked very quickly, quite competative on my car insurance. Then took 6 months for the cashback to be rejected. Raised a claim. Still waiting for some news, been over FOUR month now. Still no further Doubt I'll renew my policy with them when it's due. Not worth the hassle of trying to get the money back and don't expect much, if any, help from Quidco even if you're a premium member.

Always been cheapest for car insurance. Cashback makes it even better. Cashback a bit slow but I did receive without any hastening.

Reading the other reviews looks like direct line will do anything not to pay you your cashback. Visited the link through the site and completed my purchase. Had to raise a claim which then took 4 months to complete which was declined as they 'couldn't find my policy'. Sent them a screenshot of the policy purchase, and further raised the issue only to have it declined again as the cashback was sent to another referrer? This is the only cashback site I use, and Direct Line aren't on comparison websites, so I am unsure as to who that fee went to.

Had I known how long it would take for my cashback to be tracked I would have maybe considered getting insurance from another provider. Got the £50 off deal and thought it was a great deal in which i was inevitably getting my insurance cheaper, only to discover today, nearly 6 months after the purchase was made, it has been declined with no justification given. Quite angry at this as I thought I was getting a great deal, seems to be this way with alot of deals on Quidco, always some reason or the other for not getting full cashback or any at all!!!!Awaiting correspondence on my Claim...will not hold my breath!

Purchased insurance in August 2012, contacted by Quidcare Support in February 2013 confirming they were chasing up payment. Received cashback in March, be patient it is worth the wait.

The offer of a cashback payment from Direct Line made it the most competitive quote for car insurance however, it has taken 7 months for Quidco to confirm payment has now been made! Had I known it would take so long I may have chosen a dffferent company

Whilst everything tracked successfully and I'm happy with the product; the speed of payment was extremely slow. I don't think this can reasonably be described as being faster paying. I got my money in the end though.
The status showed as tracked for over 5 months then tracked again for some bizarre reason then eventually paid.

Good cash back amount received however took a while to get there. When purchased cash back payment was quoted as 3 months however in reality turned out to be nearer 7. Good support from quidco as always in chasing it up.

Took 4-5 months to receive cashback on this purchase; but that's totally understandable.
Other reviews complain about how long it takes for payment, but you have to realise companies need to protect themselves from people who will try to manipulate the system. For example, someone could take out insurance, and then cancel within the first couple of months if they'd already received the cashback.
The 4-5 months is a very good turnaround for the amount and from the type of product this is.
Other positives about Direct Line - if someone else in your household is also insured through them, then you can receive another 15% off your premium. Aviva wanted to re-new my insurance for £600 (and they are very well priced), through Direct Line (including the final cashback) I managed to get my insurance for £330. That is simply outstanding.
Massive thumbs up to Direct Line and QuidCo from me!

I have just had my cashback confirmed, 3 months exactly after purchase of policy. However there was a warning about this when purchased. Had no problems, just found 3 months took ages!

I do agree with previous reviewers that the term "faster paying" can be a bit misleading. However to be fair the terms do state three months from policy start date and that's about how long it took for mine to be confirmed. So on that basis I'm quite happy with the service I received from Direct Line given that the insurance was nearly £200 cheaper than my previous insurer without even including the £50 cashback! I would happily use again.

Good price and tracked OK, but VERY slow to confirm and still waiting on payout over 7 months later!! Not recommended if you are expecting the cash back within a couple of months.

Seems I'm not the only one waiting for payment. Took out policy in August, still no sign of payment and it's February now. Very poor service - needs to be taken off the faster paying list.

Policy taken out Oct 12 because of the 50GBP cashback offered as a "faster payer" and still waiting for my money. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Check the comparison sites, if you get a quote within a few pounds of this firm then save yourself a lot of hassle and use the other firm instead.

We purchased can insurance and breakdown cover with DL as it worked out cheaper with the cashback. Purchased in July 2012 and it was declined, had to make a claim and I'm still waiting in Feb 2013!

Purchased policy in October, tracked quite quickly after I filled in the additional info. Quidco tell me Direct Line take at least 6 months to pay. This is not 'faster paying'. The assurance of fast cashback was a factor in my decision to buy the policy. Feel as if I was mis-sold. This was my first purchase via Quidco and it doesn't make me want to repeat the experience.

Great cover, great price and great service, but advertising Faster Payments is just wrong. Took out policy in August and on Jan 24th it went to Tracking, unsure how much longer I will need to wait for it to Confirm and actually pay, but it most certainly is not Faster Paying.

Purchased insurand mid September, and I have still not received my payment.
Quidco should either chase up the payments from Direct Line, or remove the "Faster Payment" logo from the site.
4 months waiting is certainly not fast!!

Mid August policy purchase. Mid January ...still nothing. Frankly I am beginning to blame Quidco for this...they should not be promising a Faster Payment experience with Direct Line then continuing to let Direct Line flaunt the cashback agreement . I will not stay with Direct Line in future...if this is a sign of the Direct Line service level, I would be scared to have to depend on them if I had to make a claim. I fully understand that they have to protect themselves from early policy cancellation but hey, more than 5 MONTHS after taking out the policy, still NOTHING ! DESPICABLE

used the MSE guide to cheaper car insurance. Privilege and Hastings cheapest, but overall Dirct Line deal best cover for VM Golf TDI GT 140. Hastings would be less but I'm already with them. Total after cashback £177, voluntary excess £0 compulsory £150, windscreen £10. Now planning to insure second car for 15% discount and another £50 cashback. Only downside is you must pay by monthly installments, this is charged at 20% APR, so that limits the savings. Remember to cancel auto-renewal and bag more cashback from a new supplier next year.

Still waiting after 6 months for a £50 cashback! They probably expect to "lure" some customers with false promises but with this approach they will likely lose more customers in the future. Very poor, will not use them again.

I bought a motor insurance policy from Direct Line at the begining of October, I went for Direct Line because they were identified as Faster paying. Its now October 21 and i'm still waiting.
Updated, now January 2013 and still no sign of a payment. The Faster Payer label should be removed as I only used direct line for this reason.

For a company that's labelled as Faster Paying, there's certainly nothing fast about the time you have to wait to see the cashback. I think Faster Paying should be removed from this retailer.

I took this policy out as including the cash back it was very competitive. I understood I would need to have the policy for a while before I could have the cash back and completed the necessary follow up details as requested. My policy went live in July but I still have not received my cash back. If your taking this policy out based on the cash back amount, be sure you can afford to wait for the money. Other deals may suit you better.
