Used comparison sites to compare prices and policies. Chose Direct Travel Insurance as offering one of the best policies at an average price. Poor tracking, waited months for payment, raised enquiry, payment declined, direct travel insurance state they could not trace the transaction, despite me giving them full policy account number and details!! Very poor service. Don't rely on getting any cashback.

Have been waiting for over 1 year for a cashback claim to be paid. They may be cheap on travel insurance but they are VERY slow or reluctant to pay cashback.

Had to raise cashback claim instead of being automatic. Very slow to acknowledge and pay - has taken nearly 10 months.

I've used Direct Travel for holiday insurance for several years. They are good for my family in particular as we have a child who is a cancer survivor and although he's been cured for nearly 10 years we find it really difficult to get anyone to cover us, whereas Direct Travel have always been happy to insure us. We paid just £15 extra to cover this, which is way below anything any other company offers (in fact most won't insure us at all!). Cashback tracking was almost immediate and it was paid about 2 months later, so I am happy with that. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend this retailer.
