We had an unexpected failure in our central heating system. The call centre responded quickly and a technician appointment was arranged within a copule of days. The technican arrived and routined the system by reference to a central engineering facilitity that he contacted by telephone. After thrity minutes of testing he was able to pinpoint the problem. After ordering the broken component, he came back to fit it within the week. I was impressed by his concern and behaviour and by the fact that he was actually directly employed by NPOWER. This was all very encouraging. Cash back took a little time to arrive but was paid correctly.

Had my policy over 12 months now and still no cash back. Keeps amending the esitmated date of payment. Had the service fairly quickly after taking out the policy but to be hoenst for what the engineer did I may as well have done it myself. Wouldnt recomend and I will be looking to renew with someone else

The basic problem is the 9.00 to 5.00 appointment slot for the annual service (which means you have to take a day off work and wait for the contract engineer to turn up). The service itself was very professional. I took out the cover in October and just advised (late April) that the cash back has been forwarded for payment. The cash back level is good but the wait has been a long one. All in all Npower don't seem to offer the best service but equally it's by now means the worst. Wont stay with Npower on contract renewal unless some form of further incentive is offered to do so.

after almost 6 months received cashback(couldn't believe), enginer from npower visited me as well about month ago to do service, I hadn't had my initial service which should be within 4 weeks from sing in.(they forgot?)

N-Power missed the first appointment to do the bolier service, which meant a wasted day off work. Was very un-happy but they refunded a months cover as compensation, and re-arranged quickly. I then had a broken down boiler in Feb, to which the response was very good, quick and saved me in the region of £400 against repairs. Glad I took out the cover...

I purchased this based upon the cashback amount. It was made clear that I would not receive this until at least after six months. I had a fault within the first few weeks after taking out the contact, and I hadn't had my initial service. Npower were happy to carry out both the repair and service in one visit, no quibble. I have also had them out again since, and have been extremely happy with the call center and the service guys. Cashback was paid after exactly six and a half months.

Still waiting for cashback 6 months later! I had to chase N-power up for paperwork confirming my contract with them and three months later when i still hadn't heard from them regarding the service i called again to make an appointment. I was given a date another month later and when i questioned them about my cover during my wait it transpired that they do not cover your boiler until you have had the initial service. So beware, YOU ARE NOT COVERED UNTIL YOU HAVE HAD YOUR SERVICE!!

I can't fault the company itself as I had a problem almost immediately which NPower fixed....however the only reason they did this within my cover was because they never came out and did an initial inspection in the probationary period, which should have been a mandatory part of the contract. I was forgotten. With regards to the cashback, I bought my policy in September and have now been paying for 8 months and it still has not been confirmed!!! This is a joke.

I think the way this cash back deal is being handled is disgusting. Has anyone got the money that has been promised? By the looks of it the answer is no. It looks like they are trying to get in as much cash as possible before they think of paying anything out, surely this website should be looking into what takes them so long. 30th September this was tracked and 28th February this still hasnt been paid! I think this is terrible, I dont take these services based on the cash back but you expect these companies to pay up in a reasonable time. They have fixed my boiler on the one occasion I called but it was a minor problem that I identified for them. Update 05/04/2013 Quidco state '1% paid after 180 days or more' This can't be true as looking through the reviews nobody has a positive statement about them regards cashback. I've waited over that time period now. seems like we've been duped into taking this deal reflects badly on the website too

Took over 2 months to get a engineer out , to be told my repair bill would be over £450 for a few parts and labour. NO CASHBACK EITHER AFTER FIVE MONTHS . i certainly wont be renewing

I have joined Npower more than 6 months ago and I am still waiting for their cashback which was the main reason to go for them. I will never repeat this mistake again and will strongly advice to shop around and not to be fooled with their cashback offer. It will track quick but probably will be never paid.

Purchased and tracked on 30th September 2012 and still waiting on cashback payment! Have tried to arrange a service of my boiler a couple of times , was told outside contractor would contact me to arrange an appointment and I'm still waiting !! Not good service at all !

Waied al day for initial check then they cancelled saying they had high level of emergencies. Then boiler broke down 21/03/13 telephoned them to be told i'd have to wait without hot water or heating until 25/03/13. I have 3 kids 1 18 month old with serious health conditions.Was lied about being telephoned back and being kept informed this is the experience that i have had so all ill say is guys if you are prepared to wait ok. ohhh and customer for several months no sign of cashback. This is the same n power on undercover boss that promised to clean up its act. I urge quidcare to look into cashback and act it is only harming its reputations.

I signed up in September 2012 and it tracked quickly. Its now March 2013 and a couple of days ago an Npower engineer arrived to service my boiler, 6 months after joining. Luckily nothing went wrong over the winter period but i don't consider that a good service. Npower told me they were having issues locally with getting service staff. Anyway the service is now done and I was happy with the service and the engineer that came to do it was a nice chap. No signs of the cashback though and I wont be renewing. I will try a competitor it think..

BEWARE the central heating cover DOES NOT cover the hot water cylinder and its controls (e.g. Megaflow tank) as I discovered to my cost. In my opinion, the central heating cover should include hot water cylinder as I consider it to be part of the heating and hotwater system. Also, the cashback has been tracked very quickly but has NOT been paid for over 4 months, which I consider to be unreasonable length of time to wait. I would definitely NOT recommend this cover to anyone.

i have had the hometeam chaps out twice, once for the boiler service and once for a fault fix. for the boiler serive they cancelled an hour before they were due to arrive because the previous call was taking too long. overall the service, once the people have arrived, is good. apparently i was supposed to receive a pack to log everything in and for the technicians to sign. 3x i have asked for it and it has never arrived. as per the other reviews, no sign of cashback and i purcahsed begining of october 2012 which is quite disapointing as the £80 would be handy.

Was originaly with BG homecare and when they increased their prices I decided to change to N Power-bad move! Utterly useless customer services, poor call out times and their appointment window is 10 hours! Will be reurning to BG forthwith.

I have no problem with the npower service at all - they've been for the the initial check-up and corrected a couple of issues (even recommended that I source and fix one part as it was very easy and would be cheaper!) But no sign of any cashback being paid yet after over 3 months

No cash back received so far. Turns out npower does not cover for hardwater related damages to boiler ... so i am paying £180 annual boiler care price ... for absolutely nothing. Great!

Almost a year and still waiting for cashback Had problem with boiler -- took 2 days for someone to come out. Needed a part -- had to be ordered. Returned a week later and did it. Next day boiler started leaking again. This time sent out an engineer that day. He said needed a part and went and got it and fixed it and been fine since. Seems all engineers are not the same.
