As the title states, I am pretty happy with the Broadband I have received from Sky...
I have never had speed issues, and getting about 12 MB speed where with my previous provider on the same line was only giving me a maximum speed of about 6-7 MB (Even though the old provider claimed they also offered up to 20MB Broadband).
I have only had one issue, when my broadband was not working at all and this was due to engineers doing some work on the lines in my road and being down for about 2 hours, which was beyond Sky's control. However when I called them to query the issue (as I was unaware of the engineering work), I didn't find the support team very friendly and seemed dis-interested in dealing with the problem. This is probably my only criticism of the service I have received.
But if the issue had been more major, I could have been very frustrated!
The pricing of the actual broadband is excellent as I got 9 months half price out of a 12 month contract...
The actual line rental was about £2 less than BT a month when I first joined and there was a price rise in this to bring in line with BT earlier this year. I hardly make calls, but the basic line rental fee only gives you free landline calls at weekends, where other supplierrs give you free evening calls too, for the same priced line rental.
It would be nice if Sky could offer a broadband only package, where no line rental is paid OR a line rental fee where you do not get free calls. As we all know you are paying for them really in the monthly fee!
I think the speed of the cashback is a little lame, hence the one star score I gave this. I took out the package in March and is only now at the end of December (nearly 9 months later), that the cashback has been paid. But £50 cashback is great and shouldn't really be complaining!
