I decided to swap from TalkTalk to Sky to take advantage of the 6 months free unlimited broadband and £75 cashback thru Quidco. My phone went dead at 11:am on the Friday and only came back on at 10am the following THURSDAY - the broadband the day after, so a week without a braodband connection. I lost count of the number of times I rang Sky and it took until Tuesday before I managed to get hold of a CS rep who pulled out all the stops to get things back on. I would advise anyone who has a similar problem to stick with it and harass Sky until you are satisfied - I eventually got a free HD box and multi room connection worth £260(I still pay the monthly fee) out of them as compensation.
