When does Hotels.com charge my credit card?

It varies. If you pay in full at the time of booking then Hotels.com will charge your credit card then, and you can expect it to take the usual amount of time for a transaction to clear – this can be on the same day or up to five days.

However, with some hotels on Hotels.com you can choose to pay at the hotel, in which case Hotels.com won't charge your credit card at all. With others, you can choose to pay at the hotel but you may still be charged a deposit, in which case Hotels.com will charge your credit right away.

It has to be for the same room, on the same dates, at the same hotel, and you have to submit your claim for a price match the day before check-in, at the latest.
