Why shop with Iceland?

Iceland began life in 1970 with a single shop in Oswestry, Shropshire. Founder Malcolm Walker was working for another business at the time, but took a risk on launching his own store specializing in loose frozen food – with an initial investment of just £30.

Malcolm's bosses weren’t too happy, but in the end, his gamble more than paid off. There are now over 900 Iceland stores throughout the UK, bringing its unique range of frozen and fresh products to customers.

Iceland was also one of the first UK supermarkets to offer home delivery, and its online store sells a huge range of quality, keenly-priced food, with regular promotions helping customers save even more money.

The supermarket is known for regular money-saving offers, and its Bonus Card is bursting with extra benefits, including free home delivery and a helpful savings scheme.

Iceland food: the smarter way to grocery shop

Like all great ideas, Malcolm Walker's was simple – and in fact, it's something we take for granted today. He realised that freezing food while it is still fresh allows both retailers and customers to store it for longer, keeping prices low and nutritional value high.

Today Iceland has earned a reputation as the go-to supermarket for quality frozen food.

Choose from classic ready meals, including pizza and pasta dishes; frozen veg to serve alongside your home-cooked meals; ice creams, pies, and puddings to round off a meal to perfection; frozen fruit for making your own smoothies; and much more.

You'll also find fresh produce in the Iceland groceries range, including bread, milk, and cheese. And it doesn't stop there – you can even pick up household products like washing-up liquid and detergent while doing your Iceland shopping.

Your local butcher and fishmonger

Iceland stocks a huge variety of frozen fish and meat, all at its famously low prices. The Iceland frozen fish range includes lobster, salmon, cod and prawns – ideal for keeping in the freezer to knock out an impromptu fish pie.

Over in the meat section, Iceland's frozen chicken range includes whole birds, chicken breast or thighs, all of which can all be cooked from frozen or fresh. You’ll also find frozen turkey breast joints, free-range legs of lamb, pork shoulders and much, much more.

Iceland party food: special occasions made simple

Iceland party food will make your special occasion go with a bang. Whether it’s a turkey crown with mince pies added to your Iceland Christmas food order, beef wellington for a family get-together, or Easter Eggs for the kids, trust Iceland to help make your special day a success.

If you’re watching your weight, Iceland’s exclusive range of Slimming World main courses and desserts will help you join in the celebrations without feeling guilty.

You'll need something to drink, of course, and you might be surprised to hear that Iceland has you covered there too. Whether you're after craft beers or a fruity red wine, you can shop a wide range of wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks, and mixers both in-store and online.
