Lily and Lionel’s Creative Director, Alice Stone, noticed a gap in the market for bright, contemporary prints that could easily slot into a woman’s everyday wardrobe. So, in 2009, Alice launched her label, which she named after her grandparents who both worked in the textile industry.
Initially, the brand focused on scarves (in a range of animal prints, florals and celestial motifs), before evolving into ready-to-wear in A/W'15. Now, Lily and Lionel produces four collections a year and is stocked in more than 150 stores worldwide.
Lily and Lionel’s signature prints – which combine a very British sense of humour with a love of storytelling are hand-painted and designed in our London studio. At the heart of the brand is the desire to create prints that are relevant, wearable and, ultimately, inspiring for today’s woman.
Every Lily and Lionel girl embodies the spirit of our brand. Her style is eclectic, resolutely British, with a polished bohemian vibe. She print clashes with confidence and sees us a go to for perfectly cut, wearable pieces in prints that she can’t find anywhere else. Each season she adds to her collection of silk blouses and dresses with a new piece that she knows will pep up her trusty basics; her well-worn leather biker jacket or her favourite vintage jeans.
