More about Sainsbury's Groceries

Find out more about shopping online for your groceries at Sainsbury's below, and how you can start earning cashback.

Why shop with Sainsbury’s Groceries?

Sainsbury’s was founded by John James Sainsbury and his wife Mary Ann, and opened their first ever store in London in 1869. From their humble beginnings on Drury Lane, Sainsbury’s focus has always been on the quality, the variety and value of their goods.

Sainsbury's has always strived for sustainability too, so whether you’ve bought a pint of milk or a bunch of bananas, you can be certain that Sainsbury’s has worked hard to ensure the origin of their food is from a sustainable source for both the farmer and the environment.

This has clearly worked, as they’re now one of the largest supermarkets in the UK with over 600 superstores and process almost 250,000 orders online every week.

Sainsbury’s home delivery

Finding fresh food that’s of the best quality and at a great price is easy when you shop at Sainsbury’s.

They have regular special offers on fresh meat and fish, so if you’re on the hunt for a leg of lamb for your Sunday roast or a succulent salmon for a quick weeknight dinner, make sure you check out Sainsbury’s offers to bag a bargain.

Getting your five a day doesn’t have to cost a fortune either. Sainsbury’s has fresh fruit and vegetables regularly on special offer, and finding what you need when you shop online is simple thanks to the clear and simple navigation.

Check out what’s in season if you want the tastiest fruit and veg, or shop the Sainsbury’s SO Organic range to find fresh produce that’s free from fertiliser or pesticides.

Sainsbury’s weekly offers: Great prices on cupboard essentials

As well as stocking up on fresh goods, you can also head to Sainsbury’s to get all of your store-cupboard essentials. You’ll find a wide range of cereals so you can start your day right, staples such as pasta and rice for those comforting home-cooked meals and an abundance of snacks including crisps, biscuits, and sweets.

Don’t forget to check out the special offers tab in the food cupboard section to find bargains across the full range of food cupboard items.

Sainsbury's recipe ideas and meal planning

As well as being able to stock up your cupboards, fridge, and freezer for less, another advantage of shopping online with Sainsbury’s is the recipes section of the site, which is filled to the brim with inspiration, ideas, and advice on cooking.

Search for recipes by ingredient, dish, or keyword, so if you know you want to cook with chicken you can find everything that contains chicken quickly and easily using the search bar. Sainsbury’s meal planner is a great feature for planning your weekly meals too.

It’s broken down into categories, so if you know that you're going to have a busy week and the last thing you want to do is spend hours in the kitchen cooking, head straight to the 20 and 30-minute recipes so you can have dinner on the table in no time.

You'll find meal plans if you're vegetarian or gluten-free, with 4- and 5-day meal plans available. You can also browse meal plans by season, dish type, and method too. Add your meal plans and recipes to your online scrapbook so you can find them again in the future, and buy the ingredients at the click of a button.

Your weekly meal plans will be done in absolutely no time!

Collect Nectar Card points

Another reason to shop with Sainsbury’s online is to collect Nectar points on your weekly food shop. Register your Nectar Card online to start collecting points whilst you shop and you’ll be able to redeem them against many rewards, including money off your weekly shop or on meals at selected restaurants.

It’s just another great reason to shop at Sainsbury’s and be rewarded for shopping. Add in some cashback when you shop through Quidco and you’ve got a pretty sweet deal…

Save money with a Sainsbury's Delivery Pass

Getting your food shopping delivered to you just got a whole lot easier with Sainsbury’s Delivery Pass. Simply pay an upfront cost and you won’t have to pay for another delivery slot for the next 3, 6, or 12 months (depending on the pass you choose).

The Anytime Pass is great if you want to be able to select a delivery slot any day of the week – you just need to have a minimum order value of £40. The other option is the Midweek Pass, which allows you to get your groceries delivered to you between Tuesday and Thursday.

Again, you must have a minimum order basket of £40 to place your order. Prices start from as little as £2.50 per week but check out Sainsbury's website for full details of their Delivery Passes.

More than just groceries

It’s not just your food cupboard and fridge that you can fill when you shop at Sainsbury’s. You’ll find amazing deals on tons of household items across the health and beauty section, from shampoo to toothpaste to multivitamins.

Whether you need to stock up on your bathroom cabinet essentials or you’re in need of some sun care and travel items for your upcoming holiday, you can shop for them alongside your usual weekly grocery shopping.

Choose from classic party food like sandwich platters, quiches, and pies, or sushi platters for fish fans. You’ll also find more than finger food available to order – how about a lasagne or whole British duck?

They’ll arrive prepared for you so all you have to do is pop them into the oven. Once you’ve selected what you want, all you have left to do is prepare the rest of the party, which can be done online with Sainsbury's too.

From paper cups to straws and party bags, you'll be able to add everything else to your basket and have it delivered in time for the big occasion.

3. Sainsbury's home range

Do you want to shake things up a bit in your home? Change your accessories for a new season? Then head to Sainsbury’s home section and you might just be surprised at the huge range of gorgeous home accessories they have in stock.

From floral cushions to cosy throws for your sofa, faux houseplants and vases to jazz up your shelves, and great value picture frames to showcase your most loved pictures.

Shop by room using the easy navigation in the home section, so head to the bedroom if you want new bedding and curtains, or go to the bathroom to discover wicker basket storage, fluffy bathmats, and Egyptian cotton towels in a range of colours.

4. Treat the kids

Shopping at Sainsbury’s can keep the kids entertained too. You’ll find a great range of toys online with pre-school toys to help them learn, to outdoor toys that are great for playing in the summer. You’ll find all their favourite characters too, from Paw Patrol to Star Wars.

There are classic toys and games like Lego, Nerf guns, and Trivial Pursuit (including the Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit that any Potter fan will love!), which the whole family can enjoy.
