Good book seller, poor cashback service
I have used The Book Depository quite a few times over the years and never been disappointed. They are competitively priced, with free, if not speedy, delivery. I have never used them through Quidco until last June, and never will again. I bought a book specifically from them via Quidco because of a cashback bonus I was offered. It wasn't the cheapest I could've bought the book but with the bonus I would've received it made it a no-brainer.
What a shame therefore that The Book Depository declined my 63p cashback (and just after the time I could've returned the book) and thus blocking my cashback bonus. Even after lodging a claim, TBD still declined it. Of course, you never get a reason! I'm sure there was a legitimate reason for this, but I can't think of one.
Bottom line - I wouldn't have bought this book from TBD if it wasn't for the lure of the cashback and bonus - in this case, Amazon was cheaper (just).
In fairness, the book did arrive (not as quickly as other resellers but it was ok) and it was a book I wanted, but would I buy from them again if I was trying to get cashback? Nope. This has not put The Book Depository in my good books (ha ha).
