Equifax Free Credit Report offers & cashback

Despite taking nearly 7 months to be paid out, it's hard to complain about free money. Easy to cancel no hassle or haggling trying to get me to stay as a customer.

Just wanted to respond to the other reviewer to give a balanced view, I too signed up for the free trial purely to get the cashback (don't we all?), and have literally just cancelled in time for the end of the trial. The process took exactly 4mins 20 secs, it is not a premium rate phone number it is an 0844 number (5p per min) so for just over 20p I got it cancelled. The number is freely available on both their website, your account dashboard and their emails. It is also quoted in the FAQ section "How do I cancel" so not sure why it seemed to be difficult? Of course they want to try and sell you an extension ot the deal, thats the whole point of why they offer cashback in the first place You just have to be fiarly firm in saying that you do not want to "special offer" or the email updates - easy peasy lemon squeezy!! (My 5 stars for the pricing relates to the fact that this is a free trial for which you earn cashback - I got my cashback at £12.50!!!!!!! Thanks Quidco!!!!)

I wanted to cancel before the end of my free trial. They make it as difficult as possible to cancel. Firstly, its not easy to find out how to do it. secondly, you cant do it online and have to call (at premium rates). thirdly when i did get through to a call centre in Timbuctoo, the poor guy at the other end of the line spent the whole time (reading form a script) trying to persuade me to change my mind, offering me an extended free trial, free notifications for 12 months (which then get charged at £3 per month) etc etc. This hard sell says it all - if they offered good service at a decent price, they wouldn't have to push so hard. Avoid!
