I pre-ordered the S4 and the cashback tracked at £50, it says in the terms and conditions that it will initially track lower, then once confirmed it should give the ful amount.
After 3 weeks of the initial purchase date, they confirmed the amount and added an extra £60 making a total of £110, which is the original cashback offer. No problems at al, thank you
Pre-ordered the Galaxy S4 in April from them. For a supposed £100 cashback, but the cashback ended up only being £50. Have raised a claim against them 3 weeks ago, still no response.
Also their customer service is shocking, the S4 got delayed due to high demand, which is fair enough, out of Phones4U's hands. But they waited until the day it was supposed to be launched to send out emails telling everyone about the setback of the phones, and that the phones would be sent out on a first pre-order basis. Then heard nothing from them for over a week, and eventually got the phone out of blue. 8 days late after release.
So my cashback for an xperia z didn't initially track and i had to file a manual claim. Took around 2 months but they came through and cashback was paid this morning. I have to say the actual service itself was great, I ordered in the morning, recieved a call the same day to confirm my order and help with a minor problem they had with vodafone. Had my phone two days later. Compared to some of the previous online companies ive dealt with their service was great and for sure i'd use them again if they had a good offer
Same as others, stated £100 cashback for Iphone 4S contract that would initially track as £50 and should be updated to £100. Didn't happen, rather than updating to £100 they just paid the £50 quite quickly. Submitted a claim last Oct, to be told it had already been paid. Re-submitted in December to finally be declined again this week !
Don't believe the exclusive rates !!
Beware of this retailer!! My cashback claim has been rejected as the purchase has been credited to another referer! This is impossible, I always clear my cookies before purcashing through Quidco and I had not visited another referer only Quidco so there is no way that this could be credited elsewhere!
I agree with a previous reviewer who thinks that it is mis-selling. Like
I followed the correct procedure and have been totally and utterly let down both by Phones4U and also by Quidco. If they are not going to pay then they should not advertise that they will, I feel as if I have been totally ripped off!
Seems a very feeble excuse and no real information provided only that it was credited elsewhere, very very poor service.
I am currently a very disgrunteld Quidco member and will never ever be a customer of this retailer again.
If you are considering this retailer BEWARE!
I bought a Iphone 4s from Phones4U through Quidco, the offer was £100 cashback, they payed me £65 which is still good but not the amount they advertised, i raised a claim in November and it has took to April to decline this, they should not be able to advertise an amount then give you something totally different.
I see by the reviews i am not the first that this has happened too and would never buy from Phones4U again.
I ordered an iPhone 5 from Phones4U through Quidco. The offer clearly stated a Cashback amount of £80. Extremely disappointed to only have received £50 Cashback. Hoping this is an honest error and I will receive the correct amount as I would hate to think that Phones4U would be dishonest in their advertising.
Really impressed with the whole experience of buying a smartphone for the wife from this retailer. Excellent price and overall service. They stand out among their competitors - most of whom are pretty pathetic.
I bought a PAYG HTC Windows phone for £149.95 on 14th March. Competitors were charging c£220 for the same phone at that time. Ordering was easy, delivery was quoted as being 48 hours, but the phone arrived the next morning. To top it all, my cashback has been paid today, 10th April. So I think "Wow"sums it up really!
Just bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - fantastic deal! However, I have my suspicions that I was tricked into completing the transaction over the telephone: within a few minutes of placing the order via the Phones4U website, I received a call from them because they had a query about my credit score. I have never encountered any problems with this subject before.
Needless to say, I am expecting them to decline the £50.00cashback.
With the benefit of hindsight, I should have asked them for details of the query before engaging in the application process over the phone.
Update: 5th April 2013 - (Yes still not resolved) Despite having proof of purchase and proof of the expiry date of the offer I signed up for Quidco have responded by saying that the £80 cashback I have received is correct. I sent more evidence including my confirmation of order received on the 2nd February - with a screenshot for the £100 cashback with an expiry of 3rd Feb. It has now been 3 days and there has been no response.
I'm now tied into a 2 year contract with Phones4U and have not received my side of the agreed deal. My experience so far is one that has now left me with a lack of trust for Phones4U and Quidco - it feels like I have been gazumped, or have had dealings with some sort of backstreet vendor rather than a reputable company.
I don't know if the issue has been caused by Phones4U or Quidco, but either way Quidco have not been very helpful - I would recommend that everyone... AVOID!!!
Update: 4th March 2013 - Quidco have been in touch asking for more detail on the problem - hoping they resolve the issue soon.
I am happy with the product - an iPhone 5 - however I opted for the £100 cashback and it has tracked at £50. I read that this was normal to track at 50% of the price - however the total has now come to only £80.
Will raise issue with quidco - but experience has not been as simple/clear as I would have liked.
The only reason I upgraded my phone was to get the cashback - it covered the additional cost for the handset.
I completed the purchase and Phones4U have not paid the £100. I am disgusted as this is pretty much mis-selling in my eyes. I am now committed to a 2 year contract and so can't even take my business elsewhere.
Beware! Despite providing evidence of the order confirmation, Quidco tracking, delivery confirmation and phone contract they still declined to pay the cashback and dont even give a specific reason why - you just get a list of possibilities (you might have cookies on your PC etc)
This false advertising has cost me dear - I feel compelled to take the complaint further.
Purchased a Galaxy S3 with £100 cashback. Cashback tracked instantly but only at £50 so was a bit worried that I wouldn't get the £100. One amount of £50 was confirmed & a few days later another £50 was confirmed. Really pleased with the whole transaction. The phone arrived the very next day, was well packaged & even came with a £20 google play voucher. Would definitely buy from Phones4U again.
I took out a deal with Phones4u and had to fight to get the correct amount of cashback promised. It tracked at the wrong amount and stayed that way until Phones4u paid half of the agreed amount. When I raised a claim they said they had paid cashback and didn't want to hear anymore. It took 9 months and a lot of help from the Quidcare team for me to get my full cashback amount. I'm annoyed at Phones4u's attitude and unwillingness to explore the problem. Without Quidcare on my side I would not have got the cashback promised. I won't ever buy a phone from Phones4u again after this. Be warned!
I have bought my last 2 phone contracts via Phone4U and they have beaten everyone else in price in terms of what you get for your money. I rely on the cash back to get a cheaper price than the rest of the providers for my phone. They always process my cash back within a months time. Very efficient company.
So this was my first quidco, and it never tracked! I will be honest I had my doubts! I thought a cookie had bitten me! So I claimed. And after 3weeks I was told the claim was successful and a week later I got a healthy deposit in my account.
I had virtually the same experience as maikeru83. Phones 4 U stopped my order due to not getting a successful credit check. This come as a surprise since I have a very good credit rating. I contacted them and talked to one of their agents who told me t-mobile had failed the credit check. I then Phone t-mobile who had no record of doing any credit checks and had no record of my order but would happily process one over the phone. This way I would not see the £50 cash back! Like maikeru83 I didn't fall for that one. Got back to Phones 4 U and they alleged they couldn't help me as they were waiting on T-mobile. This was an endless loop that I have now removed myself from and will go to a company that will want my business. Phones 4 U are total rubbish. To me it looks like the Quidco orders are going missing so they don't have to pay the cash back.
Totally not the fault of Quidco, everything seemed to get tracked without any problems. They have done everything correct.
This was my first experience using Quidco and it definitely set a precedence for future purchases. Excellent, speedy service; from delivery of the product to cashback payment. I would really recommend Phones4U and would use them again in the future. Very happy customer!
Ordered the Nexus 4 which was OoS nearly everywhere and received next day by special delivery.
Cashback arrived within three months, although the delay was partly my fault. No quibbles at updating the records and did not reject the secondary claim.
Tried to buy a Samsung Galaxy SIII (with £100 cashback), and it tracked almost instantly (good so far!). Then I got an e-mail from phones4u to say my order was being processed (still so far, so good), then two days later I got an e-mail saying that they would not be completing my order after doing a credit check. Strange, as I have a nigh-on perfect credit rating! Evidently they want me chase it up, they'll apologise, try and sell me the deal over the phone, thinking I'm gullible enough to fall for that and forego the cashback. Well, phones4u, I shall be taking my business elsewhere!
P.S. No problems with Quidco btw, they did everything right as far as I'm aware!
Have now had phones4u ring me today, claiming there was a problem with my order, they couldn't find it, but somehow still had all my details (what ARE they playing at??). They wanted to put me through to their customer service team to try and "sort it out", so I told them "No". That's the last time I'll be dealing with that lot.
The offer was 'All iPhone 5 contracts with £80 cashback' but they only pay £50 and if you want to make a claim you'll probably wait 2 months. This means I still haven't received the £50 and haven't heard about the claim for the other £30. Other than that... fast delivery.
Got an iPhone 5 in January 2013 and decided to give this cash back site a go as it said I could get £100. Very sceptical I gave it a go anyway. Smooth transaction with phones4u, tracked at wrong rate initially but this soon updated. Money hit my bank account yesterday. Makes a contract for an expensive phone much more attractive.
Great phone, great service, helpful staff. Only downside are the heavily accented call centres, though the staff there are also unfailingly polite and helpful, but difficult for the harder of hearing or the elderly.
Nothing but helpful! Fast tracking and payment also! Phones for you have fab customer service and the aftercare has been brilliant ive used this company three times and bever had a problem! Recommended!
Did the i phone5 contract for the 100 cashback only reason i could afford to. As previous feedback mine has also been declined now im going to have to fight to get it and im sure they will wriggle out of it with some excuse in which case i shall have to cancel my contract as i wont be able to afford it!!! UPDATE phones 4u are now refusing to pay saying they cannot find my contract strange as they sent me an iphone 5 worth around £400 but they dont know who i am!!!!
Retailers service was good and my phone was delivered very quickly but i was expecting £6.50 for a new payg hanset purchase but its only tracked at £3.50. a bit missleading.
*update, Phone4u did actually pay the full cashback promised so all good*
Cash back track form in store tracking problems lost of ping pong emails back and forth only to result in loads of time wasted sat in front of a lap top where time would have been better spent relaxing with family not to for get our lovely woof woof yea man best friend !
Not impressed at all with phones 4u
Did not receive my free charger for Nokia 920. They did not accept my T-mobile contract and moved me to Orange.
And they declined my quidco cashback - I guess because they had to phone me.
clearly one to avoid!
Ordered a Galaxy Note 2 from Orange as a new customer on discounted Panther £36 tariff. Had message from Phones4u advising I was declined by Orange, but after speaking to Phones4U, my order was accepted.
Cashback declined presumably because of intervention / re-order. However, I received exactly the phone and tariff I originally ordered. I am sure Phones4U are still paid their full commission from Orange. Disappointing they seek to wriggle out of paying cashback on this occasion.
I attempted to purchase 2 phones which were initially approved. I was then told one had been declined due to the offer only being available for one phone (did not appear anywhere on the website). They did try to tell me it was my credit rating, but after calls to Tmobile and Phones4u (at my expense) the apologised stating that it was their error. No offer to compensate me for my calls!
Phones4u then rang me to see if I wished to continue with part of my order. I said yes to the one phone and inquired if this would affect my Quidco payment. I was assured that it wouldn't and I would be paid for the one phone. They are now refusing to pay. The latest excuse being they cannot find my order - but I have the phone delivered with the original order reference, which they say does not exist. They say that my order was taken over the phone and so does not qualify.
If you want the cashback - DON'T speak on the phone to them as they will use this as an excuse not to pay, saying the order was not completed on the internet. I am still looking for another phone but certainly won't use Phones4u
I was a bit suspicious with the deal to begin with and didn't think the cash back would come through as the deal seemed to good. I'm very happy with the speed of the delivery and very happy with the phone. I had a little problem with Orange to begin with but that's of no fault to Phones4U. I would definitely recommend looking out for some deals. It pays off in the end - literally!
Excellent from the start, this was the first time I had used Quidco so I was a little unsure how things would turn out, I need not have worried as everything was great, the phone arrived within a day or two of ordering, everything on both the retailers site and Quidco was simple and straight forward, cashback was paid within a few weeks of receiving my phone. I am one very happy customer!!
Had £100 cashback on deal, initially only £50 was tracked, although Quidco warns that this retailer does have a lower initial amount tracked. So fingers crossed and 3 weeks later the other £50 popped up. £100 in total - no complaints.
Have tried twice to place an iPhone 5 order.. both times there were "problems" - not with my credit rating. But quidco confirm £50 cashback... Both times the P4U sales team phoned me to say they could sort it out over the phone.
Got the usual failed credit check!!!
Contacted network who said I passed & gave me reference number???
When I supplied this surprisingly within seconds received processing email.
Received phone & fingers crossed the full cash back comes through.
Be persistent with it everyone!!!
They are v competitive on the Iphone contract with 02 (which I prefer as have issues with vodafone) but placed order and was called to say payment reject by card issuer - probably due to different address. They tried to place a new order - without cash back - on the telephone. I refused and the order was (apparently) cancelled. On checking with the bank, the address was correct and the payment had been taken by Phones 4U!
On speaking to Phone 4U they say the payment will be refunded within 10 days - interesting that for a payment that was meant to have been rejected!
Second time around, tried it with a different card (debit rather than credit) and it worked. Just have to see how long it will take to get the money back from the "rejected" order!
Similar experience to others. Have tried twice to place an iPhone 5 order. Both orders tracked OK on Quidco. However both times there were "problems" - not with my credit rating but allegedly with my "address not matching my card billing address" - they have to match exactly apparently! Both times the P4U sales team phoned me to say they could sort it out over the phone, but I wouldn't get the Quidco cashback. The first guy I spoke to even said he couldn't find the offer on the Quidco website and so was unable to pricematch the deal! Oh well - I'll carry on looking elsewhere...
Similar to other users I attempted to gain £100 cashback on purcahsing an iphone 5. On the face of it this seemed like a great deal, however after placing my order I was informed that my credit rating was rejected by Vodafone, even though I have a strong credit rating.
Although they said that my credit rating was rejected, Phones4u seemed extremely keen to get me to "upgrade" where by I would have lost the cashback.
This seems like an incredibly unfair way to trick customers into signing up for a more expesive deal than they realise and due to the number of comments regarding this matter I will be issuing a complaint to both quidco and phones4u and expect a prompt response from both.
Further to this, the customer service I recieved from the phones4u helpdesk was terrible.
You can only buy ONE phone on pay as you go? Imagine you wanted to buy two as presents... and they want your date of birth. Nowadays I would assume this type of company would have known to program their site not to ask for your date of birth....
11pm Thurs - Ordered, email to confirm £50 tracked as interim cashback (from the £100 same night)
7.33am Fri - Email from Phones 4U before 8am Fri am confirming order successful. Happy!.
Further update - iPhone arrived 11am sat am!!!!! :))))
(totally unexpected as website stated o2 have delays on iPhones)
Absolutely faultless service... experience could NOT have been better. Well done Phones 4U ;)
After reading the reviews for a similar deal offered by Carphone Warehouse I was sceptical even though that's who I got my previous phone from. Decided to go with Phones4U for the deal, and safe to say I was not disappointed. IPhone 5 is to be delivered within 48 hours, and within 5 hours I already have the tracking for £50 up front, with the other £50 to be sorted later on after I've started to use the phone. Very happy.
Had initially found a really good deal with a high cashback of £100. My order was tracked very quickly (only an hour or two), how ever a day later they sent me an email to say that my order didn't go though because I had failed their credit check. Thinking that this was strange as I have a very good credit rating. I went on to obtain my credit report to see what was wrong. Turns out that they didn't even attempt to obtain my credit rating as it would have been indicated in the report. Tried to take out the contract again thinking that I might have gotten my details wrong but was declined again. Tried another time thinking it was just the network declining me. This time I've not even heard anything back to acknowledge my order, so it's just sitting in limbo. What I believe they are trying to do is to decline your Quidco order the sell you one of their deals minus the cashback. Can't believe such a big reputable would do such a thing. Surely this is breach of trading standards. My girlfriend who try the same deal also has the same problem as me. Will not be using this merchant ever again. Beware everyone, don't take up a new deal over the phone when th order doesn't go through as you won't get your cashbac
Yes you can upgrade, but NO you won't get cashback! Cashback is not paid on upgrade sales, just brand new contracts... and the deals aren't usually that good. Best to go directly to a mobile provider, if you must.
Nothing wrong with the product or service, but if you are being tempted by the promise of cashback then be warned.
I swithed to this provider pureply for cashback. I could have got the same phone and contract elsewhere - potentially with some other freebies - but this one seemed best. Got the phone and contract, but cashback? No.
It wasn't tracked, soI had to raise a claim. This took many weeks. Then they said they found the transaction but then they needed it confirmed. It has been confirmed but now I am waiting for it to be processed. Well over 3 months in, and it isn't showing as confirmed yet (although someone at Quidco emailled to say it is).
All this from a company which claims to pay within 5 weeks and boasts of being faster paying. Rubbish!!
