- In order to receive your cash back you must generate a new quote and purchase directly from the Quidco site i.e. click through to the RAC site via the Quidco link. Please refer to:
- Cashback is paid on the value of the policy after any deductions.
How to ensure your transaction is tracked correctly.
- All transactions are run through extensive confirmation checks at RAC and cashback will only be paid on tracked transactions that have been confirmed. There is a 3 month confirmation period from policy start date after which cash back will be confirmed.

The cashback promised on the policy was £15.00 - some four months after going through quidco the cashback came through at £12.77.
Not a massive amount of money, but no reason given for the difference which is a bit disappointing.......

I bought a breakdown policy for me and the wife which cost £166 full cover for both cars and got £85 cashback. We bought the breakdown in December 2012 and received cashback into my bank April 2013.
So i would rate them apart from the 4 month wait but i had no problems getting the money just sit back and wait.

I bought RAC breakdown cover in November 2012 for £42.00. No apparent problem from the RAC account. I was due a cash back from Quidco which turned out to be a measley £5.00. To date, March 28th 2012, even though I have requested this, it has not been paid. Make your own mind up about this.

It took ages to receive the cashback, and then when it did come through it was for the wrong amount based on the cover that I bought. The claim was raised on the 13th October and I am yet to have it resolved (13th March). It really isn't good enough for a top company to be so slow in dealing with Quidco and for advertising wrong cashback amounts on their site.
I hope RAC's response time isn't as misleading as their cashback time!

Lots of people have complained here that the RAC were listed as a 'faster paying' service, and I would have to agree that six months (the time taken in my experience for a £60 cashback) is far from faster paying. I notice that the RAC is no longer listed as faster paying, so I'll draw a line under that one (although Quidco should have acted quicker to revoke their 'quicker paying' status).
The service from RAC has yet to be tried out so I cannot comment there, although they did ring me up to make sure the documentation etc had been received, so a good level of customer service so far.
Price-wise they are generally on a par with the AA and tend to offer better cashback; I won't touch lesser recovery services as there are always hidden charges (learned from experience!).
Listed as 'Faster Paying' yet it took 4 months to pay up.

I'm now into March and have not received my cashback from December. Whilst RAC are great, and well worth the money, this most certainly doesn't act like a 'faster paying' merchant.

I thought RAC was supposed to fast-track payments - this has taken 4 months to be a confirmed payment! Fortunately, haven't needed to use my breakdown cover yet, so can't report on that....

Like many I chose RAC over its competitors because of the excellent cash back offer. I spent £95 back in September which should have entitled me to the £45 cash back. But like may of you it tracked the wrong amount (£30) and when you question it the automated response is `Don't worry - RAC breakdown always tracks in this way. This will update to the correct amount prior to the cashback being confirmed in your account', thus making it impossible to question via the quidco support. Surpise, surpise, after six months I had £30 cashback paid instead of the £45 advertsed ! Now after three weeks I am still waiting for a response from Quidco as to where my missing £15 has gone.
Do not be fooled by the high amounts of cashback offered by RAC, I should have stuck with the AA as I never had any problems with them the previous year...

I was lulled by the cash back amount though sadly it has taken far to long to receive it. They can state that their terms are 6 mths etc to complete but in this age of swift action perhaps they should justify why it takes so long..... RAC should balance their slowness with customers decisions to renew after the year. We have no problem paying and we do pay but surely this commitment should be reciprocated by the RAC. I welcome their reason for why it takes so long. I also have no problem with companies who don't offer cash back as you know where you stand but when they say they do/will isn't there an obligation to do so fairly soon after purchasing it? Isn't their whole business judged by its response time?

Apparently QuidCo deems 6 months as Faster Paying. This is less a review of RAC and more a review of RAC and QuidCo together.
If i had a bill to pay and took 6 months doing so i doubt many companies would record my payment as 'Faster Paying'.
Payment took exactly 6 months, which was in line with terms & conditions. Bargain price.......

Bought a policy with the RAC expecting £20 cashback for some unknown reason this was reduced to £5 - which was duly paid. Was swayed by the prospect of £20 cashback - makes the policy I bought poor value for money.

they give you an offer, you take the offer then they decline you, you raise a claim and they decline it ! why say you can have cashback if you can;t, would of been cheaper for me to stay with my old provider but the cash back swayed it. not impressed at all. won;t use them again next year

I had to wait for almost 6 months to receive a cashback payment from RAC yet they are described as a faster paying retailer!
I wrote in to Quidco support to inquire as to the delay after waiting for about 3 months and I was told RAC payments could take as long as 6 months!
I then questioned as to why they were described as a faster-paying retailer if it was taking that long to make payments and I was told that I had concluded my own transaction before the RAC upgraded to the 'faster paying' status. So I presume my claim was still left on the backburner ahead of newly signed up customers as I only got my payment confirmed in January 2013 for a transaction I completed in August 2012.
It's been a painful experience. Maybe things have improved now but don't hold your breath waiting for that cashback payment.

Quidco states that it tracks within 6 hours and pays within 4 months.
It tracked straight away and got payment in just under 4 months. Does what it says on the tin!
The cashback made my cover very cheap.
I have had to call them out and they were pretty good so overall very happy.
Not very quick but did get the cashback!

Took out the £75 policy and got £45 cashback, pleased with that! It did however take about four months for it to be confirmed. After reading other reviews though, it seems mine was quite speedy! Also, out of the blue, I received an email from the RAC telling me I had a gift of a Marks & Spencers gift card with a value of £10. I printed it out and took it to Marks & Spencers and it worked! Bonus!

Cashback payment is very slow. Would be hesistant to use again or recommend to friend/family. Product on offer though once cashback deducted (hence hesitancy to use again) is up there with anything else on offer. Without cashback being paid though, would look elsewhere.

Experienced major issues with RAC call centre, one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The actual RAC breakdown service is very good though so shame the sales team in the call centre let them down.

Purchased RAC Breakdown cover on 1st Aug and there is still absolutely no sign of it being paid. Quidco have not been particularly helpful with it, just apologies that it is taking longer than normal. From the other comments it seems that this is entirely normal and there are many others in the same position. This is letting Quidco down and having the RAC as 'faster paying' is a joke!

Waiting since August, have written to quidcare as no signs of cashback yet, this is an ongoing problem i read. Should take there faster payer banner off them as this is just not true. Even better ban them off Quidco for poor service.

This is a great deal and you would be daft not to sign up to Quidco and make use of great cashback offers like this. Especially with premium brands like RAC. I also got a discount just from ordering my cover through the RAC website, so a great double saving whammy.
HOWEVER. They are noted as being a faster payer! Not sure I believe this. Although the tracking was almost instant and the cover for RAC started right away. Yet to see any cash come through after 3 months. Wonder how long this will be? surely there has to be a question mark over how long these companies can take, especially the ones claiming to be faster payers. I will no doubt get to my renewal sooner than they pay up.

I was very disappointed. The amount tracked at £60 and took over four months to be confirmed. When it did eventually confirm it had reduced to £30. I wrote to RAC who were most unhelpful. I submitted a dispute through QUIDCO who were also unable to help. I will never use RAC again, I only purchased the policy due to the cashback offer. I'll use another firm next year.
Just a bit disappointing but overall happy.

I cannot fault the speed at which my cashback tracked or was paid as it was within the averages however, the amount has been disappointing.
I suppose this was my own issue- getting my hopes up but here goes...
I chose the policy because with the cashback value it meant it would be cheaper compared to AA and other suppliers (it also came with free extras at the time so got a great deal through Quidco). When it tracked, it did so at 60.00- I didn't realise it at this stage but it was a bit higher than I was expecting. However several months later I saw my tracked cashback reduce dramatically without warning/ communication.
Having had this investigated by Quidco support I now know where the issue originated. I think the rate I eventually got was great (and the policy was chosen on this basis) but I wish I had been contacted regarding their initial error before reducing the tracked amount instead of me wasting Quidco's time investigating the matter.

Can't say I have been very impressed with the way this has been handled. I followed the rules to get the Cashback only to find they rejected it. After raising a claim and giving all details again they eventually agree and 8 months later I might just get to see my Cashback. Question is, is it worth the hassle for only £20?

Nice product, service and price but very poor on speed of cash back. They took way over the advertised 180 days and Quidco had to chase for me. Would still use again though but I'll be warned next time.

I purchased my breakdown cover in February, it was tracked quickly but then at the end of July the cashback was declined. I contacted quidco and raised a claim, after waiting what feels like forever the cash back was confirmed but for a lower rate than was advertised initially. I had to repeatedly contact customer service about this claim and if I was less persistent would not have got the cash back. I feel that waiting 8 months for cashback to be confirmed (still not yet paid) is far too long. I have had this same issue with several cashback purchases, I feel quidco should support the customer in resolving issues faster as waiting months is frustrating and puts customers off returning.
The breakdown cover is excellent, but getting the cashback is hard work!

Quidco originally declined, had to raise a claim, now it has been paid.
RAC as a breakdown service. Have had one breakdown, call out time 75 minutes, mechanic didn't know what problem was, had to be recovered to my local garage.
Not ba I suppose!

I waited over a year to get this cashback, I had to submit a cashback claim in order to get it. This was the best cashback rate at the time and halved my breakdown cover which was fantastic.
Process with Quidco was excellent but can only really rate this retailer as poor because i would have expected to get my cashback a lot sooner and not have to chase them up.

Four and a half months later and I'm still waiting for the cashback. I also had to call RAC to chase the £25 free fuel card that was the offer when I purchased the breakdown cover. It seems like they will only pay you the cashback and provide the offer if you take the time to chase them.
