One of the top destinations for weekend breaks is Amsterdam. The Dutch capital has been a favourite of Brits for its convenient location, charming canals and liberal attitudes. Whether you want to delve into history at the Anne Frank museum or spend your days chilling in a coffee shop, there are tons on offer in this city. For short breaks, Expedia has some unreal deals on flights and hotel packages — with some even under £250.

With beautiful sun-kissed beaches on the one hand a city world renowned for its buzzing food and drink scene, there’s fun to be had by everyone in this city.
Spend your days on the beach or head to the Museu Picasso to view some of the most famous paintings of the 20th century. By night, paint the medieval old town red and head down to Las Ramblas. Enjoy the local tapas, have a drink and watch the street performers do their thing. Through Expedia you can find return flights and a few night’s stay in a hotel for under £200 per person. And, as always, book your Expedia trip through Quidco, and you can earn cashback on your holiday.
Expedia.co.uk was launched in 1998 and is part of Expedia, Inc., the biggest online travel company in the world. They look at a database of over 450 airlines to bring customers the lowest prices on flights, and offer unbeatable rates on over 321,000 accommodation options across the world, from hotels to holiday cottages to rented villas. When you choose from one of Expedia's many flight and hotel packages, everything is taken care of for you – so you can bag a great cashback deal on your dream trip, and not have to worry about anything but packing your bags and catching your flight.
The Expedia hotels range has properties in every corner of the globe. It also caters to every price range, offering everything from hostels to budget hotels to luxurious five-star resorts. If you enjoy having the freedom to come and go as you please, go for one of Expedia’s self-catered aparthotels, or opt for an ill-inclusive package if you’d rather put your feet up. And it’s not just traditional hotels you can find on Expedia. If you’re after some extra space and a bit more privacy, try out one of their holiday rentals instead. Pick from modern apartments, cosy cabins and laid-back villas that have all the amenities you need to feel at home, even on the other side of the world.
With so many airlines all promising to bring you cheap flights, it’s sometimes hard to know where to begin when you’re booking holiday travel. Expedia works with hundreds of airlines to make sure you get the lowest prices, whether that’s for an economy seat with a no-frills carrier or a first-class ticket with a top international carrier. When you search Expedia’s flight database, you know that what you see is what you get. You won’t pay a penny more than the price you see in the search results – no hidden costs and no sudden price increase when you reach the checkout.
Package bookings are the perfect choice for holidaymakers who want the biggest deals and the least hassle. Whether you're headed to Barcelona or Bali, booking your hotel and flight together through Expedia could save you money, as hotels and airlines often offer preferential rates for package bookings. Combine that with our Expedia cashback offers and you'll get a truly unbeatable deal on your next holiday.
And if you think all Expedia's packages are standard 'fly and flop' holidays, think again. If you’re the adventurous type, choose a car rental package so you can get out and explore. Or, if you’d rather maximise your time spent soaking up the sun by the pool, Expedia have got you covered with a range of all-inclusive resorts that’ll come with great food, drink and entertainment bundled in.
Expedia's experts have analysed the way people search for flights and hotels to make it as easy as possible to find exactly what you’re looking for. When you tell the Expedia search tool your travel dates and the cities you want to fly to and from, they’ll scour prices from all airlines and all nearby airports to make sure you get the best deals. You can also refine your search to show only direct flights, and even specify your preferred airline and seating class. You’ll have the option to add on hotels and car hire too, or you can search specifically for packages or hotel-only deals if you prefer. Planning your trip is even easier with an Expedia account – you can save your searches to look at on any device, while the Scratchpad tool means you can note down and return to any hotel, flight or package you like the look of.
When you buy a flight or book a hotel room through a trusted name like Expedia, you’ll go through a fast, secure checkout process used by millions every day – and you'll receive an immediate confirmation page and confirmation email to let you know that the transaction has been successful. With ATOL protection on Expedia’s packages, you know you won’t be stranded anywhere if something goes wrong; and if you have a change of plan, many hotel bookings can be cancelled free of charge in just a few clicks. Give Expedia a ring or go to their online customer service portal, which has everything you need to know about cancellation options and potential refunds. Expedia can sort you out with travel protection too, by offering you insurance with their partner, Allianz, which you can add to the price of your booking.
Get discounted hotel rates on select hotels when you book a flight, car or package holiday on Expedia. Simply choose your destination, package or car hire and once you’ve booked you will unlock discounts on hotels until the date of your trip, which means you’ve got plenty of time to find the right hotel for you. It’s a fantastic way of saving even more money and gives you the flexibility to choose a hotel you like the sound of at your chosen destination.
You’ve booked your flight and hotel and bought your travel insurance, so why not let Expedia take care of all the extras too? Have a hassle-free journey from the airport to your hotel by pre-booking airport transfer, or pay for car hire as part of your holiday package. If you’re stuck for activities, look at Expedia’s “Things to Do” page for a treasure trove of inspiration and deals on attractions. Read their destination guides to help you plot a fun-filled itinerary, with offers on theatre tickets, museum entry passes, boat tours, excursions and much more.

Travellers often find themselves resorting to indirect flights at inconvenient hours to keep the price of their plane tickets down. If you’ve found yourself flying indirect to save money in the past, your Expedia cashback is a great reason to shop for direct journeys that won’t involve the stress of spending the night at an airport, waiting for your connecting flight. When you use the flight search tool on the Expedia website, just tick the “direct” box in the advanced options drop-down menu to find a flight that gets you straight from A to B.
A family holiday can be a big expense, so Expedia and Quidco want to make sure you’re getting as much out of yours as you can. Or get away from it all and unwind for a couple of weeks by booking into a laidback family resort. Better yet, many of Expedia’s all-inclusive packages include entertainment for the kids, keeping them occupied while you get some much needed R&R.
Anything else you want to know about booking your holiday with Expedia? Look no further – you’ll find the answers to a few of the most common questions below.
Flight packages bought on Expedia are ATOL protected, however ATOL protection does not necessarily apply to all travel-related bookings made through Expedia. This means it’s a good idea to check the small print before you book your holiday. If your booking is ATOL protected, you should receive a certificate shortly after payment. This will list the parts of your holiday that have ATOL protection.
Expedia+ is Expedia’s rewards scheme. Registered Expedia+ members enjoy exclusive access to some of Expedia’s best deals and can earn points on their bookings, which they can redeem for rewards. Members first join up for a free, basic “+blue” membership, and after spending £5,000 on bookings can upgrade to a “+silver” membership for extra advantages, before acquiring a special “+gold” status after they spend £10,000.
To cancel a flight booking you made with Expedia, you will need to contact either the airline or Expedia. If the flight was with a low-cost airline, you should contact the airline directly, while, for full-service airlines you should call Expedia. To cancel a hotel booking, sign into your Expedia account and view your bookings. In “Upcoming”, select the itinerary you would like to cancel and then go to “Manage Booking”. Select “Cancel Room” and follow the instructions. Most hotels will not charge you a cancellation fee and Expedia will not charge you anything. Be sure to check the Expedia terms and conditions before amending or cancelling any booking.
If you have booked a trip with Expedia and would like to change any part of your booking, you will need to phone Expedia. The change procedure will then depend on your flight or accommodation supplier. If they permit you to change your booking, then Expedia might charge you an administration fee, depending on the type of booking, in addition to any fees imposed by the supplier. You can often change your hotel or car rental booking for free.
This depends on your purchase. When you purchase a flight or package, Expedia will charge your card right away and you can expect the money to come out of your account within the next five days. For hotel bookings, you will usually pay on arrival at the hotel – though the hotel may ask you to pay a deposit, which Expedia will charge you when you make your booking. The exceptions are "pay online bookings' and Expedia Unpublished Rate bookings, for which your card will be charged immediately.
In the Expedia Price Guarantee, Expedia states that, if you book a hotel room through Expedia and find it listed elsewhere for a cheaper price within 48 hours, Expedia will refund you the difference. The same goes for hotel and flight packages.
