In addition to general garden waste and grass clippings, you can also put in cooked left-over food waste, perennial weeds, meat, fish, chicken bones and much more.
HOTBIN reaches hot composting temperatures of 40-60c naturally without the need for a power source. Many compost bins are unable to reach these high temperatures, which means you end up composting less at a slower rate. With the HOTBIN you can expect mulching compost in 30 days and rich organic peat-free compost in just 90 days. To put that into perspective, what would normally take 12-24 months to compost in a cold heap will take 12-24 days in a hot one such as the HOTBIN.
Unlike other compost bins, no turning or tumbling is required and there is an odour-filter in the lid to help reduce compost odours which attract flies and vermin.
Their continuous HOTBIN composters are compact and suitable for both small and large gardens. They are wheelie bin sized and have capacities of either 100 or 200 litres depending on the model. HOTBIN also have available the super-sized HOTBIN Mega which is modular batch composter and available in 450 or 700 litres.
HOTBIN has been successfully tested by Garden Organic and has won a number of awards including “RHS Chelsea Garden Product of the Year 2019” for the HOTBIN Mini and “Gardeners World Magazine Best Buy Compost Bin” for the HOTBIN 200l.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, HOTBIN is 100% recyclable and has excellent insulation properties helping to maintain high internal temperatures keeping you composting all year round.
