Original Organics is a brand operated by GM8 Group Ltd. GM8 Group Ltd was established in June 2018 with the mission of bringing together a variety of brands and products that encourage more people to embrace sustainable living by helping them reduce their environmental impact.

Original Organics is a one-stop online shop for all your gardening needs, specialising in organic living, sustainability and recyclable materials. We provide many sought after environmentally friendly and high-quality products that last for decades whilst helping you cultivate and capture life and an identity in your garden.

Dating back to the 1980s, the idea for Original Organics was spurred by our conception of the very first domestic worm composter. Inspired by the writings of Jack Temple and others, we began trials on our domestic worm composter and eventually landed on a design for our very first product – The Merlin Bin. After some design improvements we renamed it The Original Wormery. This design has been modified, improved and developed ever since to give us the proven effective, efficient and highly acclaimed product we have today.

As the inventors of the wormery, we successfully filed for UK and European patent rights. We even invented the word ‘Wormery’ and were granted trademark rights on the word. Though it is now widely used by others as the generic name for Worm Composters (a bit like Hoover for Vacuum Cleaner but in a smaller way!)we soldiered on knowing our years of experience and innovation mean more to our customers than branding.

Our small family run business grew a little and we soon added a simple and effective garden composter – the classic Rotol Compost Converter – to our offering. These have since been further supplemented with our bestselling Garden King Models (with ‘easy slide’ access hatches); a Junior Wormery, ideal for children or single-person households; The Tiger Wormery, a multi-stacking Wormery; and more recently, The Midi Wormery. Since then, we have added even more products to our ever-expanding range. The Aerobin Hot Composter has become a revelation in the composting community in recent times and can tackle the toughest food and garden waste to produce nutrient-rich compost in as little as 12 weeks.

By making our own composters, we can always keep excellent control on quality; our bins are made slowly, gently and as environmentally friendly as possible. We are composting specialists who happen to make high-quality composters out of recycled plastic, rather than a large plastics company which happens to offer composters as part of its product range.

As with composters, we apply these same guiding principles to every aspect of Original Organics because that’s who we are. We are now one of the UK’s leading distributors of water butts and offer water butts that hold up to 1,600 litres of rainwater. Our range includes ever-popular space-saving water butts which carry as little as 100 litres of rainwater too, allowing for gardeners of any size abode to begin harvesting and recycling rainwater.

Our Garden section includes everything you need to cultivate the garden of your dreams. Not only do we offer essential tools and equipment, we also offer garden buildings & storage, organic lawn care products, outdoor heating, fantastical garden ornaments and much, much more. Our grow your own section provides everything to start and keep you growing incredible flowers, fruits and vegetables. We provide growing kits for kids to introduce them to the joys of gardening as well as garden games to get the whole family active and enjoying the outdoors.
