Helpful Information

Shopping Virgin Media

Why shop with Virgin Media?

Founded in 2007, Virgin Media has established itself as one of the biggest and most innovative broadband, TV, and phone providers in the UK.

It’s no surprise really, given the brand’s heritage (it was part of the Virgin family until 2013), the fact that its broadband is fast and reliable, and, of course, its fuss-free approach to all things digital.

And, with a mission to better connect more customers to the things and people they care about most, and a quirky sense of humour to boot – think Usain Bolt TV ads – Virgin Media has endeared itself to the nation.

With 5.9 million cable customers and 3.1 million mobile customers and counting, the numbers really do speak for themselves.

Not only can you expect fantastic deals across the board, but great customer service too and a brand that really gets that people want different things. As Virgin Media explains, ‘we’re here for the boxset bingers, the telly ninjas, the all-night gamers and the biggest streamers’.

So, whether you’re looking to upgrade your smartphone, switch broadband or treat yourself to better TV, head to Virgin Media’s website and get exploring. Remember to follow one of the links on this page – after all, earning cashback on a great deal is a nice bonus.

Virgin Media broadband: superfast by name, superfast by nature

Simply put, Virgin Media’s superfast broadband lets you ‘get more done online, faster’. That means streaming TV shows without having to worry about buffering, playing multiplayer video games without disruption, and performing numerous online tasks all at once.

With Virgin Media having fast broadband speed, all of this is possible and more, regardless of whether you’re connected to the internet via WiFi or an Ethernet cable.

Virgin Media TV packages: all your telly needs covered

Back in the old days, we didn’t have much choice when it came to TV – we basically got whatever was available! Fast-forward to today and everything has changed. We’re not only spoilt for choice but we can do so much more with our TV – especially with Virgin Media.

Hover over ‘TV’ in the main nav bar to get started. You’ll see a list of categories, allowing you to, for example, compare TV deals, discover what channels you will have access to, and find out more about some of the unique features that set Virgin Media apart from its competitors.

This includes the powerful V6 box, which lets you record six shows at the same time and, among other things, lets you effortlessly connect to apps like YouTube and Netflix.

Flexible to suit you: Virgin Media packages

Whatever you’re in the market for, whether it’s superfast broadband, a pay monthly SIM or a new home phone – or indeed a great package that includes broadband, TV, and calls – Virgin Media has a solution for you.

The main nav menu will get you to where you want to be. Tap on ‘Broadband’ to explore broadband-only deals, ‘Mobile’ for offers on smartphones, ‘TV’ for TV packages, and, well, we reckon you get the gist!

If you want a deal that includes broadband, TV, and calls, head to ‘Bundles’. For convenience, all the packages, including the Full House Bundle, Full House Sports Bundle, and VIP Bundle, are all nicely lined up next to one another, making it easier to compare features and prices.

With the ability to personalise each bundle further, through add-ons and extras, you can build a package that is as unique as you are.

Special deals for companies: Virgin Media business

Virgin Media isn’t just for consumers and households. The telecommunications company also has a fantastic range of products aimed at helping small, medium, and big businesses transform the way they work and boost their bottom lines at the same time.

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, then head over to Virgin Media Business. You can find a link to this at the top of the Virgin Media homepage, but if you’re keen to earn some cashback, we recommend you follow one of the links on our Virgin Media Business page.

You can explore deals based on the size of your business, the sector you work in, and by product type, which includes cloud solutions, business applications, and hardware. The search tool, located at the top right of the page, is also handy.

When you begin typing, you’ll see ‘suggested searches’ and ‘quick links’ to help speed up your process. If that doesn’t deliver anything relevant, tap on the search icon (magnifying glass) and browse the results.

5 ways to make the most of your Virgin Media cashback

Virgin Media has covered all bases when it comes to its services – which is great because there’s a perfect package out there with your name on it! However, we appreciate it can also feel overwhelming. To help you out, here are five inspiring ways you can earn cashback.

1. Boost your broadband speed

With Virgin Media, you can say goodbye to the dreaded wheel of death, the nuisance that is buffering and painfully slow broadband speeds. Thanks to the company’s state-of-the-art fibre optic broadband technology, you can instead enjoy superfast broadband that’ll have you feeling somewhat like Usain Bolt!

To get started, you’ll need to check if Virgin Media is available in your area. You can find this out by either clicking on ‘Expanding our network’ at the very top of the homepage or scrolling to the bottom and clicking on ‘Postcode Checker’ under ‘Switching’.

2. Get all the sport

When it comes to live sport, you’re pretty limited in what you can enjoy these days with free-to-air channels. However, for those of you who are serious sports fans and willing to spend a little bit more, you can have all the sport you desire at your fingertips with Virgin Media – and earn cashback when you shop through Quidco.

Hover over the ‘TV’ tab and select ‘Sports’. Here you can find out more about all the sports action you’ll be able to watch, whether it’s golf on Sky Sports, UFC on BT Sport or horse racing on Racing TV.

After which, it’s merely a matter of deciding whether you basically want it all – with the Full House Sports Bundle, for example – or prefer instead to have a handful of quality sports channels.

As a final note, you really can’t get better than Virgin Media when it comes to sports coverage – it’s currently the only TV provider that offers both Sky Sports and BT Sport together.

3. Keep a busy home entertained

For a busy household, you’re going to need a package that works for you and your family – and at the best possible price too. What kind of package you opt for really depends on how big your family is, what your particular needs are, and, ultimately, what will keep everyone happy.

Likewise, for both bundles and TV-only deals, your decision will be shaped by your interests. For example, if your family loves TV, check out The Player bundle. If everyone is into their own thing, the Full House bundle is probably your best bet.

4. Switch the easy way

Switching to Virgin Media is a breeze – so long as your current contract is up for renewal. If so, follow one of the links on this page to get started and earn cashback while you’re at it.

Then check to see what deals you’re eligible for with the postcode checker tool, take your pick from an amazing range of packages, and then place your order. It’s that easy.

Do note that it’s your responsibility to cancel any existing services you have. To ensure that you lose no connectivity when you switch, arrange for your new deal with Virgin Media to go live the same day you disconnect from your current provider.

For more information on this, such as what to do if you’re still tied to a contract but still keen to join Virgin Media, head to ‘Switching’. You’ll find this in the main nav menu at the top of the homepage.

5. Enjoy TV on-the-go

With Virgin Media, you can effectively take your TV with you, whether you’re on your regular commute to work or holidaying abroad. This is all possible with the Virgin TV Go and Virgin TV Control apps, which are both available when you sign up to a TV-only deal or one of the bundles.

With Virgin TV Go, you can catch up on your favourite shows on your smartphone or tablet device remotely and while you’re on the move. With Virgin TV Control you will be able to manage your V6 box literally anywhere in the world – so long as you’ve got an internet connection.

It’s especially handy if you forgot to record your favourite TV show!

Virgin Media deals and discount codes

Using Quidco cashback isn’t the only way to save on your broadband, TV and phone. We also offer discount codes and promo codes, too. Like cashback, these codes allow you to ultimately pay less for the same product.

Unlike cashback, discount codes slash the price of what you pay immediately. Using them is easy. All you have to do is find a code you like, click ‘Reveal Code’, and copy it. Then you’ll be redirected to the Virgin Media site where you can redeem the offer.

Previous discount codes that have been popular with Quidco members have included getting a £100 Virgin voucher, which enabled you to get £100 off your first bill when you signed up. Or look out for deals where you get an extra something when you sign up, such as Google Nest or a JBL Flip 5 Speak.

Shopping with Virgin Media

Still looking for more information on Virgin Media? Below you’ll find our answers to some of the most common queries about the entertainment and communications provider.

Can I get Virgin Media in my area?

While Virgin Media continues to expand its network by the day, its coverage is still limited. This means that some of its services, like broadband and TV, are unavailable in certain parts of the UK.

The best way to find out if you can get Virgin Media in your area is to click on ‘Postcode Checker’ towards the bottom right of the homepage and enter your postcode in the search box. You will then be told whether or not Virgin Media is available in your area.

How do I contact Virgin Media?

To contact Virgin Media, scroll down to the bottom of the homepage, click on ‘Contact us’ and follow a simple three-step process. Step one involves choosing a topic, such as account and billing, broadband, or moving home.

Step two then asks you to select from a small list of common queries. Step three involves clicking on one of the suggested answers. You will then be redirected to another page that hopefully provides you with the information you were after.

If however, you can’t find a suitable answer to a query you have, you can either post a question on Virgin Media’s community forum, speak to a member of staff via live chat or call up its customer services. All information relating to this can be found under ‘Contact us’.

What is Virgin Media Connect?

Virgin Media Connect is a smartphone app that lets you connect to Virgin Media hotspots when you’re out and about. So if you run out of data, there’s no reason to panic. You can connect to the hotspot and use wifi to browse, stream and do whatever you’ve got to do on the web.

At the time of writing, there are 3.5 million hotspots, dotted around in restaurants, bars, airports, and so on. There are also a healthy few hotspots, abroad, too.

It doesn’t stop there. Virgin Media Connect lets you take control of your home wifi. Use it to test your broadband performance, reboot your hub and pause wifi to devices. You can do all this from the comfort of your sofa.

Who owns Virgin Media?

Since 2013, Virgin Media has been part of Liberty Global, which is one of the world’s biggest telecommunications companies. While Virgin Media has kept its name and branding, it is no longer part of Virgin Group, which was founded by Sir Richard Branson and Nik Powell.

How do I install Virgin Media in my home?

Once you’ve made your order, Virgin Media will let you know whether or not you need one of its engineers to install a cable that will connect you to its network.

If your property is already connected – you should have a Virgin Media wall socket fitted in your home, for example – you can easily set up the service yourself, via its super simple QuickStart package.

If you’re not connected, Virgin Media will send out one of its engineers. The process, which shouldn’t take more than two hours, involves drilling a hole through one of your walls so that a cable can be installed.

The engineer will then connect you to your service and even show you how it all works. Do note that if you don’t own your own home, you will have to get permission from your landlord for drilling to take place.

What is Virgin Media’s Full House Bundle?

Virgin Media’s Full House Bundle is an amazing 12-month package, which ticks off all your entertainment and communication needs. It comes with over 230 channels, unlimited broadband, and inclusive weekend calls.

It’s not the only bundle. Others include the Full House Sports Bundle, with even more sports channels to choose from, and the VIP Bundle, with highlights including access to over 260 channels and inclusive anytime calls to both UK landlines and mobiles.

Cashback deals with more brands like Virgin Media

If you still haven’t made up your mind, there are other top broadband, TV and mobile brands you can earn cashback with. This includes BT Broadband, Sky Broadband, and Plusnet Mobile.

Even though we do our best to keep the information on this page up-to-date, it may be out of date from time to time.
